…you Pam. We can’t get Synovetin in the UK. She was on Librela for about 9 months, but unfortunately it had little effect, if any. It is next on the list to try again though.

…you have access to Synovetin? This is a medication injected directly into the elbow joint that can last over a year and is cheaper than amputation. It can really reduce pain

…he's enjoying being treated like the King he is?  Earing, drinking,  enjoying sunbathing in the  yard, etc?

I hear ya' loud and clear about the  synovetin. The cost alone, would ge a deal breaker for me.  Then in top of that, the "uncertainty of results, IF  any, having to stay at the Vet's yet again

…Theresa,

OK I'm not Sally but I'm going to jump in here ...

I'm sorry that Max is not feeling good. Ugh! Regarding synovetin, here are some Forums search results and there's even a mention of it from Dr. Pam. Scroll past your mention of it for the first couple of posts.

…are still doing the bunny hop, and we noticed him not bending the surgical leg much.  I spoke to vet/surgeon and they are still suggesting doing the Synovetin shots.  One in front elbow and second it back knee they did the TPLO on.  Its $3700 plus staying for a few days overnight. It sounds invasive,…

…arthritis in his spine and shoulder, plus his bulging disk.  Vet said we may be able to lessen the doses but we won't know for a while.

I've read Synovetin is mostly for dogs with moderate arthritis and the success is about 90%. But Max's arthritis is severe, so she said they hope to get 75% better…

…to make him walk a little more each day.  I think we are going to see how he does before we decide on anything else.

If anyone's dog has had the synovetin injections done on their dog I would love to hear what they have to say about it.

How are you and your clan doing?  Hope all is well.

Thanks

…never did stairs alone for their entire life, I just couldn't bear the thought of them taking a spill. It was worth the effort.

I've heard of Synovetin. I can't blame you for wanting to hold off for now, and take things one step at a time. Did your vet mention if giving it involves sedation?

…or his shoulder giving way because he is off balance and only has one shoulder.  Our Surgeon suggested trying a new radioactive injection called Synovetin for elbows.  It is supposed to keep the joint pain free for up to a year, and reduce the inflammation. Right now we are not ready to do anything

…this therapy, and yep, not a bad price considering the alternatives. Thank you so much for your expertise and thoughts on it.

Here's the list of Synovetin vets.

… I have been reading about the new medication Synovetin and it sounds promising, but how I don't know how I would go about finding a doctor who has experience with using it. Since it's so brand new, is

…being treated?

Let us know what you learn about PRP and stem cell therapy for OA, I've been meaning to do a blog about it for a while. Also, that Synovetin sounds pretty cool! Thanks for the heads up. Here's a link for others. We'll definitely cover it in the blog too! It's nice to see new options

…that's still in trial stages, but he doesn't have a license for it & will get back to me after he comes back from a conference. The name is Synovetin & it works w/ radioactive material?

….  We are going to try some amantadine instead of tramadol.    We did talk about some alternative therapies (platelet rich plasma, stem cell & Synovetin OA).  I'll have to do some research on all of that.  But I guess at this point will need some more diagnostics before deciding what to do.  He
