Keep up with the steamed squash, maybe the pumpkin as previously mentioned.   Yoi can talk to your Vet about proper dose of Miralax of yoi feel the need.

Thanks for sharing the backstory of how you became Queen's forever home.  While I'm sorry your brother wasn't  able to keep

…she has been home thats excellent. Has she had pooping issues before? If so that explains why the vet would want to see her.

You can safely use Miralax. It is OTC, odorless, and tasteless. Depending on her size, 1/8 - 1/4 tsp twice daily, a.m. and p.m., will get things moving again. Wet food…

…is best in recovery for many reasons. I would add a little water to dissolve the miralax and then add it to Toni's food.

Not sure what her regular poop habits are  but if she has NOT had issues in the past, it is completely normal to…

…not poop for days to a week. We can help things along with the Miralax. It may take a few days to work. All cats are different, but it will indeed get Toni back to pooping.

The pathology can take up to 10 days to

…Catrick adores her, and glad she does tolerate him Good boy Catrick! he says I am going to help you heal Nancy!! Adorable pics💝

Those are teeny miralax doses, and I suggested that since she had the poops before, a typical dose is 1/4 tsp twice daily. It is rare for Purrkins to get bound up, but he…

…received 1/4 twice a day, sometimes 1/2 tsp. Yep, it's great to have tools within reach. Wide range of dosages 1/16 th tsp & up to 1 tsp miralax. It is dose-dependent, so if you get the poops, you know to do less. It is safe, odorless, tasteless, and reliable. Having CKD, you need tools.

… needless to say. And, she's already having more regular bowel movements so hopefully we're past that hurdle as well. Thank you for the tip about Miralax - that will be good to have in my back pocket just in case.

The vet thought that the hunched walking was just her getting used to her new

…. That can also turn into an ER visit. Be mindful when cleaning the box, and check for dry and hard balls. Puking is a red flag! You can do OTC Miralax to help if you see dry, hard balls, and I would recommend a small dosage of 1/8 to 1/4 tsp am and pm. It is odorless and tasteless and could go in

…Management Tools Make Recovery Easier

I would have liked to see the gabapentin at every 8 hours to start with and then moved to 12 if able. I like Miralax better than the benefiber, but we are all different. It is safe, tasteless, and super effective. It is less likely to cause gas, etc.

Thanks

…CKD but we need to cover her pain.

You want to see some pee 24-36 hours. Poop will take a bit on the meds, you can add 1/4 to 1/8 tsp of otc miralax if you see she is not pooping on schedule. Not sure if you had instructions to change the litter type or not. Some do some to not. Some cats don't

…be more comfortable on every 8, but I say again, with your vet's advice.

I'm hopeful he will love the closet like Purrkins did. Yes, try the Miralax. I guarantee it will work; the best part is its tasteless. Do am and pm and continue until things are back on schedule or when Huck is off his pain

…options we have tried like a cardboard box (his usual fave) or an enclosed cat house.

I did talk to the vet and they also recommended the MiraLAX or Metamucil so I will try that out today and hopefully it will get things moving!

As far as meds he has Gabapentin every 12 hours and Onsior

…not . Again, it's nothing to panic about and there are things you can do to help, but wait until you talk to the team to try any home remedies like Miralax (Holly has great direction for that one!).

…100 mg capsule – one capsule by mouth every 8 hours
12 days Buprenorphine 0.3 mg 0.25 ml every 8-12 hours

Let us know what the vet says. Miralax is over the counter, safe, effective, tasteless and easy to give.

Hugs

…. His littermate brother used to do the same and help out when needed,

Pooping will take longer on pain meds. You can always add a little bit of Miralax in his food to help that along. 1/8 to 1/4 tsp twice daily will get things back on schedule.

The cone, we got permission from our surgeon to use

…she appear to strain when she has the bowel movements? Do the stools look normal? Talk with your vet, but you may need to give her a little dose of Miralax to help move things along.

It's good to hear from you and to know that you are seeing some of her personality come back. I know it seems like

…s okay; he is getting his hydration.

Pooping also takes a bit while on pain meds, so don't worry about the lack of poop right now. You can add Miralax. It's over-the-counter, 1/4 tsp am and 1/4 pm to help to poop. And another reason not to stop the fluids- it will help him stay hydrated to poop

…of box the first couple of days.

Pooping - pain meds can constipate, so don't panic if Jolie doesn't poop for a few days. You can add some OTC Miralax to help get things moving.

Peeing- we want to see pee 24-36 hours. Most importantly, make sure they aren't straining and making unproductive

…feed Tuni her food on the pillow she always lays on the couch. Because Possum and Petunia have different thyroid med qty, and I give Petunia Miralax, I want to make sure she eats that up. And, as I mentioned before, she will lay on that pillow all day if she wants to, so I wouldn’t want Possum to

…is all Brilliant to hear👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍 I believe you are on the other side, and if it were me, I would leave her dosage for some time. Try the Miralax; that will solve the other issue;) I'm glad you're talking to Ellevet and the vet.

Scratches and smooch to Discovery, please

…when you get home. Pumpkin is excellent for SOME cats, not ALL. If this continues to be an issue and or the poop looks larger or dry - try the Miralax.

I hope things are much improved when you get home. Im sorry things were going so well for some time. Hang in there; you will get this all

…good but she hissed at me after that so it wasn't a complete relief. I've been giving her TikiCat with Pumpkin in it to help her poop, but will try Miralax if she continues to have problems.

We had decreased her Gabapentin on Friday from 100mg 2x a day to 50mg 2x a day. By Sunday it was clear that

…safe drug to continue to use. Great job syringing the meds.

Not pooping is likely due to the gaba; you can safely use over-the-counter Miralax - add 1/8 or 1/4 tsp am and pm to her meals to help with that. (dissolve the Miralax in water ) & add to her wet food. Its tasteless she won

…why I share that: breathe in 4 hold for 4 breathe out thru your—mouth for 8.

Im glad to hear it calmed down; keep her on the gaba and the miralax. Post in ask the vet if you are in ANY DOUBT.

Call tomorrow and see if you can get into rehab sooner.

I have to get offline and medicate

….5 more so. I would also think her little body muscles would like ours be very sore after doing things we are not used to. Continue faithfully the Miralax as well. A plugged-up cat is NOT THIS sleepy peaceful kitty. Thats what I know. They are miserable and in pain, throwing up and trying to poop!

…Steel Mini Measuring Spoons 1/4 1/8 1/16 1/32 1/64 tsp Dry or Liquid

They decrease in tiny increments if you need to stay on the Gaba and or Miralax. It will help you dose the Miralax for Petunia.

(((Hugs))) and scratches to Petunia & Possum please

…is the current dose Miralax 1/4 tsp or 1/8 am and pm? I would NOT stop the Miralax while on the gaba. What is the poop looking like? Details other than stinky? You can reduce the dosage if the poop is runny or too soft! If you

I’ll keep an eye out on carpets at thrift store. Thanks for the suggestion/advice.

Might cut back on Miralax to see how she reacts. She pooped at 6am (12 hrs after her last) and 6pm tonight!!! But boy are they STINKY! It was so stinky that when I went

…before it starts working. Well, it started working pretty fast!

I’ve gone back up to giving gabapentin every 8 hours and giving her 1/8-1/4 of Miralax every feeding cause I kept going and feel it should be enough since I’m being consistent since her last poop.

Well, she did go poop today! And it…

…I was gone for 3 hours! So that’s only 4 days since her last! She’s making the gap smaller, which is another reason I’m sticking with 1/4tsp of Miralax. The funny thing is this time she went in the pellet litter! Last two times she peed was in the clay. I decided to remove the small disposable

… have both side by side, and give her the choice.

Relax on the poop, please. It will come; she was checked yesterday, and she is not impacted. Miralax needs a few days to work!

She is doing great. Strength and balance will come. I thought you were putting rugs down this weekend?

So tomorrow

, but she really wants her to get this poop out. She said continue to Miralax even after she poops. She reach back out if she doesn’t poop by Tuesday (since she eats wet food, I guess there is more room), or if she starts to
