Hi everyone,

WOW am I glad I found this forum. I have never made a comment like this but I feel like I need feedback or encouragement and this is a specific forum I am hoping to get that from. So, my 11 year old tuxedo, Cindy, will be returning home after having her back left leg amputated due to a vaccine induced sarcoma. and let me be honest, I am terrified. She is a drama queen and will limp the whole day after shots. I am worried home life isn’t adjusted enough for her. I just learned about placing a stool or something to help her get on the bed. Oh, and since I have to work she’ll be alone for some hours out of the day. My partner and I have taken rotating shifts so we can be home half the day, but it feels like it’s not enough. The doctor said there was no sign of cancer anywhere else in the body so this was a life saving measure. I know age is not a disease I just worry she won’t adjust or I won’t do enough. My cats are my children, and I am one worried mom.

Thank you reading and wish Cindy luck!

Hi Maddi and Cindy, welcome. We are so sorry you had to join our club but glad you found us. It's a lot to think about and we are here to help.

Yes we have tons of Trikitty recovery tips in our e-book, Cool Tips for Tripawd Cats , and our What to Expect articles . Be sure to check them out. You really want to make sure Cindy has a good place to recover and good pain management . The links all have info in them that will make recovery as easy as it can be.

And remember, the more pawsitive your attitude, the more Cindy will reflect that pawsitivity. Our attitude makes all the difference in the world so try to go from "I am one worried mom" to "I am one confident mom and know that Cindy will make a full recovery." You can do it!

P.s. Please register as a member so your future posts won't need approval each time.
