So happy to hear how well Gizmpmos doing!!  We knew his sparkle would come back...and it still is!

And Gizmo says prognosis schmognosis.  As Jackie said, a "prognosis " is just as unstable as the disea.

What matters is Gizmo is back!!  And once the fur fills in you won't  even remember  what he looked like on four.  He is a very lucky kitty tonjave you as his hoomans....and to have two homes he allows you to live in!😉

Quick update on Gizmo.

The Bad News: He went to the oncologist on Tuesday.  News was not good. The lesion on his lung had grown in the month since surgery.  The Oncologist said that normally in cats Osteosarcoma is very slow moving, unfortunately Gizmo's is aggressive and acting more like a dogs. (Which in a weird way is funny as we always joked that Gizmo was species confused and acted more like a dog than a cat). The oncologist has had a lot of success with dogs with Palladia.  She said there aren't enough cat studies to know how it works with Osteosarcoma in cats. She gave us the choice of three different types of Chemo the therones are indicated for sarcomas in cats.  I opted to try the Palladia.  We started it on Wed. Knock on wood with two doses down he seems to be Ok.  He also so far has taken it with a handful of treats and wrapped in Pill masking paste. He goes back in two weeks to see how he is doing. If anyone else has experience with Palladia love to hear it.

The Good News:  Gizmo right now seems to be having really good days.  He is getting up and down stairs and beginning to jump onto his smaller cat tree to watch the birds out the window. He had an absolute blast decorating the christmas tree.We have had two days of mild weather since Thanksgiving and he wore his coat and went out for a supervised walk. (His favorite activity in the entire world) He even stalked and chased a bird.  As my daughter said he may be dying but right at this moment he doesn't know that and appears to be enjoying life.  We have no regrets about removing the leg as he was in such pain and for now he is back to being the Gizmo we have always known and loved.

I am sorry that this is progressing so quickly. I am really glad though that this isn't stopping Gizmo from living his best life with his humans. Would love to see him in his coat sp_hearticon2

Fingers, toes, paws, and tails crossed that the Palladia works for you. I have no experience with it but maybe others do and will chime in soon.

First, it's pawsome that Gizmo is back and living life to the fullest! Yep, he's not dying of cancer, he's living WITH it!

I'm sorry about the tumor. That is NOT how this cancer usually behaves in cats, but this is like the second time in a year this has happened in our community. What the heck? Grrr.

I don't know of another cat that has gone through Palladia treatment for osteosarcoma but maybe I'm having a brain fart and someone here can refresh my memory. Either way it we are cheering you all on for a positive outcome and keeping the cancer under control. In so many cases, once you find that magic treatment combo, it's just a matter of taming that beast so that it doesn't misbehave and we do see many animals go on to defy the odds and enjoy a great quality of life. We so hope Gizmo is one of them. Keep us posted!

The fact that Gizmo is enjoying  brin Gizmo is truly  wonderful.  He's showing  you he doesn't  care what the fheck up shows because  outwardly  he is doing great.  And the fact he is symptom  free is also good.

Since Gixmo thinks he's a dog, we can tell you that even AFTER symptoms  show up in dogs, they still have lots of good quality  time.

Keep on doing those walks he loves, make time for bird chasing (no catching  though).  And yes, Gizmo is LIVING  life to the fullest pain free and we celebrate  that with you!!!

Hoping for pictures........

Quick update on Gizmo.  Good News:  He is adapting to life on 3 legs really well and had a great holiday. Loved the amazon boxes and enjoying playing with his new toys.  Bad News: we went for his scan today. The Palladia isn't working.  He has multiple new nodules in his lungs and the tumor in his lung had grown (albeit more slowly than the last time.) So we changed to Carboplatin in an attempt to buy him some more time.  Gizmo really does seem to be enjoying every day and having 3 legs hasn't slowed him down.  Even caught him on the top of the cat tree the other night.  Its hard to believe he is really dying since he seems so full of life.  Hopefully we can buy him some more time with the Carboplatin.

Best

Gizmo is LIVING!  He is clearly living  life to the fullest and enjoying  every moment!!  Whatever us going on "clinicly", it's not interfering with Gizmo being Gizmo!!

Ditto Sally! Gizmo is living with cancer and thriving ❤ There's a big difference🤗

Without your efforts he certainly wouldn't be having a blast scaling trees.

Would LOVE to see a photo... hint hint... nudge nudge 😁

Cassie it's so good to hear from you and to know that Gizmo is in charge! I love how he's showing all of us how to celebrate the important things in life, like climbing trees and being adorable! He most certainly is full of life 🙂

The cancer news is not what anyone wants to hear, I'm sorry about that. That disease can be so mean. We are keeping our paws crossed that the new treatment sends it packing. Keep us posted OK?

And yes, let's see some photos!
