SolensiaTM is indicated for the control of pain associated with osteoarthritis in cats.
Thanks for sharing this Holly. I had no idea it has become available. I agree, it's not quite enough data to make anyone with an ISS cat feel OK about giving it as a vaccine.
I'm wondering if Ketamine injections like Meg's are something available to cats with OA?
I second Sally's question:
just a little perplexed as to why the arthritis seems to be the only "cause". I say that because he was using that leg after amputation and he was mobile. Was the lack of ise of the leg gradual or sudden and how long after amputation
It is interesting to think about if he wasn't showing such severe mobility problems before the amputation.
What is Oscar's weight like? If he is even a pound overweight that will make mobility harder. The good news is that you can help him drop any extra pounds if he has them.
I agree, hubby's lack of support is not helpful. I'm sorry you are dealing with that.

Yes, I'm leary of any injections for the boys. Whenever any injection (med) is mentioned, I ask for an alternative and have been accommodated.
If I were in a rock and hard place, I would want all the info I could get my hands on and go from there. That's why I shared the info.
Jerry, I'll send you the news release on Solensia)

Checking in you and Oscar, how did the rearranging of the recovery suite and new litter boxes go? I hope to hear the NSAID is helping & the litter mods are a solution.
I also wanted to add (you can tell your husband). Purrkins had three opinions, four total one was virtual, and not one mentioned or checked the other limbs with X-rays. Purrkins oncologist did chest X-rays, labs, urinalysis, ultrasound; they looked at everything but the other limbs. They were looking for Mets —Those tests are oncology's "gold standard."
Did I understand Oscar is seeing a rehab vet? or not?
The Tripawds Foundation
will pay up to $200 for his first visit. https://tripawd.....bursement/
(maybe someone can share what a typical visit can cost?)
