Thank you!  Rusty is having some breakfast now. Then we will head out.  (Fingers crossed that the getting into the carrier go smoothly)

Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014.  Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer).  He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure.  He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.

All clear!  Vet says Rusty is healing great!  He is back up to 11.8lbs so obviously *cough* he is eating well. 😊 Dr is fine with that.

Regarding vaccines, none given, at least for now. Both vet and oncologist are ok with going either way for him on this.

We saw Purrkins on Facebook yesterday!  Loved the computer shot.  Similar to what Rusty does to me.

The vet did very nicely say he is happy where Rusury is at now. Would not recommend much of an increase in weight. So in other words yes eat whatever he wants keep him happy healthy and healing.  We do need to keep an eye to make sure he doesn’t become pleasantly plump. 🤪

Just popping in to say Hi and I hope the holiday season is still finding all you and your furbabies recovering well and living life to the fullest! I have seen some of you featured on Facebook via the Tripawd posts. clap If any of you want to connect there, I am listed under Gina Reilly and my profile pic is King Rusty The BunnyMan.

This whole experience has left Rusty even more loving and cuddly then he was before.  This is great because, well, every furparent wants to know their baby loves them.  It does get kinda funny and almost, dare I say... frustrating, when I am trying to get other things done like wrapping Christmas presents. This gets a little difficult when the Bunnyman lays in the middle of the paper that you just cut.  He has also taken to hanging around while I am rehearsing my holiday music for the choir and solo performances.  Sometimes he meeewwwwsss along.  I don't know if it is "hey! I like this" or "Momma, please stop" but it is really cute either way.

He is getting around so much better each day.  He plays "Mousey" with Daddy multiple times a day, which is a game of stalking and catching a squeaky mouse that is tied to a string.  Videos will follow at some point.  He also tries to eat the artificial Christmas trees.  I have bought the bitter spray to put on the branches.  It sometimes works.  He is almost compulsive.what-ever Once he starts, it is difficult to move him.  Oh, I am one of these people with multiple themed trees so when I move him from one, he shows up under another one.

We have kept the foam mats and rug runners down until further notice as it is a definite help for him.  I had changed his litter box on the main floor to a low side/senior pet box and he uses it without any accidents.  There is always a ton of litter outside the box because of his digging but we just clean it up. When I went to the basement (partially finished so Dad hangs out down there), I noticed that the litter box down there was being used too.  That one actually has high sides, with a med height entrance point.  There was no mess around that one.  So now I am wondering if I should switch out the one on the main floor to higher sides again?  I don't want to mess with what is working for him, but if he is using the other type box anyway...

Other than that, things are status quo in Bunnyman land.

Happy Holidays to all!

Sorry for the drop off Gina life! 😖😫
Thanks for the picture that was on facebook that is Purrkins after I shut the laptop!😽 How is this for helping ?laughing

Purrkins helps me in everything I do too I get it;) It’s a huge compliment to you & how Rusty loves you!! Wrapping gifts I shut myself in the bathroom to do that and they paw at the door 🙄HE HE!

As for the litter box do you have a litter mat outside of it? That would help with the litter scatter this is what we use! They come in different sizes what I like about it traps all the litter and just pour it back in. ! I love ours it’s a two part system.

If Rusty is using both boxes see which one he uses more, if he uses the one more then the other you will know your answer. You can also try the box side by side and see if he prefers one over the other, both ways will ensure you won’t have a issue by letting Rusty decide!

Christmas trees I gave that battle up 6 years ago and have little tabletop trees. Out of reach and no-one is climbing & ingesting and breaking ornaments & tipping over the tree. 🙀🎄 I wish you the best of luck and hope you succeed!😽

((((Gina))))(((Rusty))))

So nice to see you here! I have been hoping you are all doing wellheart  All is good here in Huckleberryland👍 I LOVE that litter catcher Holly, I'm going to check it out.

I devised several boxes for Huck, in the end he is using a regular covered catbox just fine. I placed a more shallow one near the covered one. Huck used the covered one and Oscar ROLLED in the shallow one! He manages getting around well with the throw rugs and has no problem hoppng up on things as long as he has traction . As far as being cuddly, we may have to work on it, loloh-my
