Hi Fuzzmom, Sorry it's been a few days--I appreciate your check in especially since your Fuzz is just a few weeks ahead of Fiona post surgery. Fiona is one week post surgery and every day we see progress! She's being really good about resting and taking it easy, but seems to be in good spirits wanting pets and even crawling into my lap (as she did last night). I'll start a new post with her one-week status in case it helps other pet parents understand the different behaviors and recovery patterns. All in all, I think she is going to be just fine. Her stitches come out Saturday and I think the big next step after that is getting her comfortable on the stairs in our row house. All in good time though--no need to rush if she is fine mainly dozing on blankets for the time being. Thanks again for your concern and good wishes--it's been terrific to have this forum to talk with people going through this.
That's wonderful news! So glad things are going smoothly, i was also wondering ❤
Hugs,
Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry
Super duper news! It's always to nice to know that a member is healing up and getting back to the new normal.

Welcome Fiona! It sounds like you are doing everything right for your baby and I know exactly how you feel -- it's such a tough decision. Our Little went through a rear leg amputation 4 days before Fiona and everyone here is right, surgery, recovery, healing, personality changes, are all different for everyone. What isn't different for everyone is the love for our animals. It can be so tough but this community is here for you! I'm a newbie as well but the support is amazing!
I've felt better every time I've posted on my blog and "vented".. it's not always positive but it really has helped to get my emotions out in a community that can relate. Just remember, Fiona is a trooper and so are you! Rescuing an animal and caring for them is an amazing "job" and so is caring enough to continue supporting them no matter what their challenges are.
Hugs from Texas,
Aubrey and Little
