Jolie is for sure a one-of-a-kind story, and one that gives hope to so many now, and in the future. I love that your vet is surprised. It will really help her with future patients to know that not every case like his is a lost cause.

As for the treatment, I'm 100% with you on your choice to manage things without chemo or dialysis. It's good that your vet mentioned every possible treatment choice. But in the end, you know Jolie best and what he would want you to do for him. You've done such a great job so far and it's really paying off.

Enjoy each day to the fullest with him and Mignon. They are quite the pair!

Pretty darn good news on so many levels.  Of course, at the top of the list is how well Jolie and Mignon are doing.

To have your Visa handled and vehind you now has to be such a relief.

Agree 100% with your decision to not put Jolie through anymore extra tests, etc.  Your care is what has given her the extended  quality time she is now enjoying.  You've left no stone unturned and have gone above and beyond  what most are willing or able to do.

To have Jolie and Mignon home with you enjoying  each other and you is what this whole joirney is about.  This is truly a story of hope and inspiration and we are so honored  to get to kmow these two miracle kitties and their Dad😎

Hello All

Jolie went in for a check up today and we had a very good report.

BUN normal at 25.46

Potassium normal at 4.46

Creatinine the lowest it has been at 166

Rbc a sturdy  34

So we don't have to go back until September 8th!

It's a little scary to go a whole 2 months without a check up but I hope everything will be fine.

Thanking you always for your thoughts and prayers....I'm sure we wouldn't be at this point without you.

Hello All...

Well, this is sad to write, but Jolie went off his food the very day after the wonderful exam with all the good numbers and high hopes. Then, so frighteningly, I woke up early Tuesday to Jolie seemingly having a seizure, with eyes unfocused and head swaying back and forth having been preceded by some convulsions.  He came out of it after only a minute or two and back to normal as far as I can tell.

He continued to not eat until Wednesday and has been eating intermittently since then.  I can't afford to take him back to the hospital so I am just hoping home care can help. I found some Cerenia that I didn't know I had and a friend of mine found a pharmacy that sells Cerenia for animals over the counter as well as a digestion aid.

I called the vet today and got some appetite stimulant and more Cerenia.

He had to take iron tabs during the last week and i think  that might have caused nausea and appetite loss. He finished the iron tabs yesterday so I am hoping for a rebound.

He was purring and following me around this morning but this evening he seemed lethargic but I coaxed him into eating his  snacks and now he is finally purring again

I jumping around on the emotion spectrum between hope and despair and desperation and acceptance.

Sally and Purrkins have been providing support via email during site down time....such a help and so appreciated

Edward I am so sorry, I can't imagine how scary that must have been. Has he had any seizures ever since? What did your vet say?

You are doing all you can do and that is so helpful for him. Never doubt that you are an incredible pet parent to the boys.

Sally and Purrkins are angels on earth! Thank you both of helping. Sorry for the downtime.

We can certainly  understand why your emotions are all over the place. Joloe certainly  keeps you on uour toes, that's for sure.

We all know you have continued to give Jolie the best care possible.   Quite frankly, far more care than most could or would do.

Really encouraged  that he has started purring and eating, even if not alot....still good signs.

Edward, I thought  I posted those poctures for you but ,above they got lost in the shut down.....or maybe I was delusional 🤔🤔😱

A yway, let me try again in just a bit

Ot's an honor to be part of Jolie's Fan Club ♥️

These two take the cutest poctures.  I love the one of him on the kitty pillow.

Hello All

Thankfully, it's already been a week since he had that seizure and no more since.

I didn't tell the vet because she would have pushed me to get a battery of tests and I can't afford and I don't know if I want to put him thru anymore of that.

On the bright side, Jolie seems to be doing better today. I haven't seen him eating his dry food but he had a pretty normal size and consistency bm today, so he must be eating while I'm gone or asleep. It was too big a bm to be just from the snacks I've been feeding him. He has been purring and kind of following me around the house.

I think I will do just one more day of cerenia and stop it.

What do you think?

Okay, Jolie certainly seems back on track for stability again👏. Of course, we know Jolie will keep you on your toes ss he continues with his own version of "normalcy"😉

In my non-expert opinion, if you need to start him on cerenia again you can, but I think it's a good test to take him off for a bit and see how he does.

We all understand 100% why you are doing at home treatment where Jolie is the most comfortable, not stressed out, and continues to have good quality in spite of some of the ups and downs he likes to do! That's why he made the decision you have so much insight and knowledge into how to care for Jolie. More test, more poking and prodding, would only stress him out and he is already a miracle cat because of your care. You know his issues, you know his age, you know what he needs and when he needs it. You are doing such an unbelievable job caring for him.

Thanks for the update and we're continuing our prayers and keeping our fingers crossed and sending good positive energy.

Hugs

Hello!

It is morning here and Jolie just hopped up on the bed purring furiously, so I guess the week of panic is over. It looks like he is eating at very early morning hours and when I am away at work.

I am so relieved!

Thank you all again for accompanying me again thru all of this....

WOW! Jolie really knows how to make all of us (especially you!) so worried. He is stronger than you think! We are as relieved as you are.

Cheers to a great week ahead! sp_hearticon2

Hello

Perrkins referred me to ask Dr. Pam on here  about long-term use of Cerenia for ckd cats.

Does anyone know how I might find her on here?

Thanks
