Ya'll not what, having your hea3t melt on a good way ocwrrodes andt other "less good" emotions. It's new law the aUnoveree and Jolie made up just for you!
To think where you were and where uou are now is lewps and vpunds of improvement! Clearly Jolie does things in his own way and at his own pace. Needless to say your devotion to his well being is hugely instrumental in his progress....and it is progress!!
Than you for the update! It does, indeed, melt our hearts in a pawsitive way!💖💖

WONDERFUL!
Yes I get it. We love our animals so much, and there is always some guilt over these tough decisions we have to make for them. I know I felt happy that Jerry was still with us after he lost his leg, and sad that he lost it too. We have so many emotions that clash at a time like this. But Jolie's good signs are showing you that he appreciates your advocacy more than you will ever really know. He is so happy to be in your care.
Thank you all♡♡♡sometimes I find myself on that emotion roller coaster. Today Jolie's condition was a little down, with a higher ratio of syringe feeding. He did improve toward afternoon and ate about 40 pieces of dry food from my hand so far (7:45 pm here). He did drink regularly and had a BM (4th day in a row)!!! Also...I discovered that kissing his belly makes him purr:)
When you go back for your next check, ask about the Zofran/Ondansetron. You can give that more frequently than the Cerenia, which is once 24 hours. Plus, the Cerenia is only given for so many days, and you have to pause it.
The zofran can be given every 8-12 hours. ( no pause needed)
We genuinely 100% understanding this emotional rollercoaster and trying to get all this dialed in. 🫂🫂🫂 you will have some days that are better than others. You are giving Jolie EXCELLENT care, and going through all this makes your bond even closer(yes, it's possible) Try (I know it's difficult ) to stay in the present day and not travel in the future. One day at a time Is all we can do. Inquire about tweaking the meds.
With kidney disease, anemia, and amp, it is a wallop. Things can improve. 🙏🏻 I know there is a big difference in how those two anti-nausea meds work in the body, and as I mentioned before, we had success with both, but the Zofran for our Saxton was our biggest blessing. He would happily eat with the Zofron; our vet also added the Pepcid AC. Saxton and Jolie have/had different health issues, but what was the same was appetite and nausea, and that is what worked for Saxton and does for many kidney kitties.
Lots of Belly Kisses to Jolie (Purrkins does the same;)

Oh my GOSH this is adorable!
Isn't is strange how this scary situation can bring you even closer together?
Holly I am so grateful for your presence and insight here, since I know zilch about kidney kitties. THANK YOU
Milestone2: Jolie has been venturing out from his usual routine of TV room-water fountain-litter box and visited the big bed room. He seemed to suddenly remember the bed. He came back to the bedroom at 5am this morning so I put him on the soft stairs I have and he came up to the bed, started purring and layed down next to his brother and me. I woke up at 7 and put him on the bottom stair because I'm afraid he would fall from the bed. Also when he came into the bedroom he was meowing to me so on a hunch I put his food bowl in front of him and he took 3 bites on his own.i fed him more by hand so we racked up total of 27 pieces by 5:30 am. A good start to the day. I sent a couple of pics.
Thanks for the advice and consolement. I will ask about Zofron on Tuesday when we go in...
HUGE MILESTONES PLURAL!!!
Hopping around more than his usual spots to the bedroom to find you!?!! Up the steps to the bed, napping with you!! Coming down the steps!! Meowing for food, YAY JOLIE. Whoo hoo, buddy!!! I would say Jolie is getting his sparkle back. 💖💖💖
Excellent on the Zofran/Ondansetron !! 🤞🏻 It is used off-label in cats. Not sure i mentioned that before. It can be close to a miracle pill to get kitties to eat.
You go back to the 8th. I made a note the day you posted it to remember.
We will continue to send all our tripawd power, prayers, and good juju.
Love to both the boys, please
