Might not be a bad idea! If you have an old towel or large tshirt that you can cut the armpit area and above off, then make a slit so that you have a rectangle, you might be able to just slide it under him and take it from either side to help him support himself. That would take about 5 minutes with a pair of scissorsĀ
I hope you both had a restful evening and are feeling ok this morningĀ š¤š¤š¤

OfflineI only used the tank top a few times and Purrkins was hopping as we have said all kitties are different it's hard not to compare recoveries some things are the same some are not. I didn't do a thing to the tank top as it worked as a sling the way it was - like they use for pups. It was what I had and I grabbed it and it worked for helping Purrkins in the box and staying upright without face planting!Ā
Also if you have anything bigger to try for the litter box that might get Pablo to put his bum in it all the way and not pee out the back just a thought. I had to switch our box after recovery back to our old box with modifications (cutting the box out in the front) The recovery box ended up being too small. I was thinking you might be ok for recovery but this is where Pablo shows you what's ok for him. Follow and listen to what he shows you and adjust the plan that's the best advice I can give.
I know Dawna told you she used pizza boxes, a lot of people have used boxes for recovery its whatever works, Obviously the cardboard won't last unless you can line it with something. They still work. If you have any Rubbermaid type totes those cut easy with a box cutter/x-acto knife. We used a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel on it to cut Purrkins litter box out. The litter box material is tough to cut that is the only thing we could use to get thru that plastic. Then we filed the edges smooth. Your Dad might have a Dremel to modify something to work. Just throwing ideas out if needed.
I hope you both had an uneventful night.

OfflineUpdate- good news! Pabloās figuring out his balance in the litter a bit now! He was able to stand JUST long enough to go pee and poo! He does however go to the right when he walks haha but thatās okay heāll get it down in no time! Iām so happy heās doing so well right now:)! Of course once I bought a rubber bin to make a litter box like the giant one I have he decided heāll just lean on his gate!š haha oh my boy youāre so silly..

OfflineUpdate: I finally got some actual sleep today only 2hrs but itās a start haha. Pabloās doing great and his incision is healing beautifully!:) heās started walking more and went up his pet stairs (itās only 3 stairs.I held his rear end for support because he really wanted to do something himself and I donāt want to discourage him). Heās been eating, using the litter, and taking his medicine with no problems:)

OfflineThank you both:) Iām really happy with how heās doing when he falls he just gets right back up and tryās again. Iām so happy I chose to amputate instead of euthanize (euthanasia never crossed my mind though) because heās obviously still fighting his fight and heās not done yet:) and Iām happy I chose amputation instead of leaving the mass it may take awhile for us to get used to this but at least he wonāt be in pain once heās healedā¤ļø. I know I still second guess doing this but at the end of the day I did the right thing I know I did the right thing.
