Might not be a bad idea! If you have an old towel or large tshirt that you can cut the armpit area and above off, then make a slit so that you have a rectangle, you might be able to just slide it under him and take it from either side to help him support himself. That would take about 5 minutes with a pair of scissors
I hope you both had a restful evening and are feeling ok this morning 🤗🤗🤗

I only used the tank top a few times and Purrkins was hopping as we have said all kitties are different it's hard not to compare recoveries some things are the same some are not. I didn't do a thing to the tank top as it worked as a sling the way it was - like they use for pups. It was what I had and I grabbed it and it worked for helping Purrkins in the box and staying upright without face planting!
Also if you have anything bigger to try for the litter box that might get Pablo to put his bum in it all the way and not pee out the back just a thought. I had to switch our box after recovery back to our old box with modifications (cutting the box out in the front) The recovery box ended up being too small. I was thinking you might be ok for recovery but this is where Pablo shows you what's ok for him. Follow and listen to what he shows you and adjust the plan that's the best advice I can give.
I know Dawna told you she used pizza boxes, a lot of people have used boxes for recovery its whatever works, Obviously the cardboard won't last unless you can line it with something. They still work. If you have any Rubbermaid type totes those cut easy with a box cutter/x-acto knife. We used a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel on it to cut Purrkins litter box out. The litter box material is tough to cut that is the only thing we could use to get thru that plastic. Then we filed the edges smooth. Your Dad might have a Dremel to modify something to work. Just throwing ideas out if needed.
I hope you both had an uneventful night.
Update- good news! Pablo’s figuring out his balance in the litter a bit now! He was able to stand JUST long enough to go pee and poo! (Yes that too he FINALLY went haha I’m just happy to know his body’s not taking the medicine too bad). He’s been doing really well and has been trying to get up and walk more:)! He does however go to the right when he walks haha but that’s okay he’ll get it down in no time! I’m so happy he’s doing so well right now:)! Of course once I bought a rubber bin to make a litter box like the giant one I have he decided he’ll just lean on his gate!😂 haha oh my boy you’re so silly..
Yes!!! Like i said, Huck likes something to lean on, especially for number 2's
Yay!!! Even sooner than i figured!!
Good for you for the bigger box ❤️❤️❤️

Update: I finally got some actual sleep today only 2hrs but it’s a start haha. Pablo’s doing great and his incision is healing beautifully!:) he’s started walking more and went up his pet stairs (it’s only 3 stairs.I held his rear end for support because he really wanted to do something himself and I don’t want to discourage him). He’s been eating, using the litter, and taking his medicine with no problems:)
Yes!!! That's pawesome news!!🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗
I can't even begin to tell you how happy i am for you!!
Thank you for such a wonderful update, and he even tried his stairs!
You are doing a tremendous job caring for him, I'm glad you got some sleep... You need more too😉
Sending you all hugs and please give Pablo a cuddle for me and Huck ❤️❤️❤️

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thank you both:) I’m really happy with how he’s doing when he falls he just gets right back up and try’s again. I’m so happy I chose to amputate instead of euthanize (euthanasia never crossed my mind though) because he’s obviously still fighting his fight and he’s not done yet:) and I’m happy I chose amputation instead of leaving the mass it may take awhile for us to get used to this but at least he won’t be in pain once he’s healed❤️. I know I still second guess doing this but at the end of the day I did the right thing I know I did the right thing.
