I have been thinking about you guys. Silly question ( I know I am full of them ) when you medicate are you massaging it in? I was always told massaging it into the ear helps it get in to her system. I think it will also take a bit of time, not an overnight like you had a headache and took Advil?

Eli is very intuitive. That is really wonderful. He is sensing your fear and worry and trying to make sure you are ok. I am sure he is also feeling very protective of his sis as she rests and recovers from this. Do they have recheck labs scheduled for the near future? Thyroid meds, diabetes meds, and some others go through a 'curve' of dosing to balance out the proper dosage for the patient's needs. It might have to be raised/lowered a bit until they get it just right.

I have thought of you guys often, and are keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending big hugs and ear scritches to the kitties sp_hearticon2

Kerren, the way you are handling this "challenge" on so many levels is quite inspirational.   Not sure that's the right word.... maybe just the word "loving"❤   You are doing everything g with such love.  And Ill add a healthy dose of hope into that equation.

I think Eli is watching  you and Mona because  he smells kitty food on you both😉

Lots of love💖

Thanks for asking, Holly, I was wondering myself.

Kerren, you, Eli and Mona are quite a team! And Eli is captain, he's such a good nurse making sure you're all good 😉

And you are being soooo patient and thorough with her care, no kitty could ask for more. I love that her quality of life list has more pawsitive checkmarks these days! That is such a smart thing to do, and will help you stay grounded in what can be a very emotional and uncertain time (as if it isn't already, right?! Sheesh).

Brilliant to hear the meds came, and Mona doesn't mind them!

No need to be creeped out; that's Eli making sure Mona is ok. They sense everything! I'm sure of it. Saxton does the same he is the protector, just like Eli. LOL Sally and the kitten food too;)icon_lol

Ok, you have a follow-up with the vet right to recheck things in few weeks or so? Have some more labs drawn?

I read anywhere to 3 weeks for meds to work. We did not do the meds & I don't even recall having a choice that was furever ago too. Our Dot's showed up in her labs and had symptoms, so we were fortunate there were no questions. We love black and white, and it's incredibly hard when it's not.

I love Mona is getting whatever she wishes and still doing all the things she enjoys. That's what we hope to hear! Keep it up, Mona!

Kerren, i won't tell you not to worry but try as long as you see Mona be Mona all the reason to be hopeful!

We will keep sending positive thoughts your way & if we can help in any way, please holler, ok!

Big hugs!

Yes, I massage the medication in using the foam applicator. I do clean her ear first using a strip of gauze. I assume the vet will check the labs again. She mentioned a couple of weeks so I expect a call to set up an appointment.

Yes, it warms my heart to see Eli watching Mona so attentively. It did creep me out a bit this morning because I'm not sick! What does he know that I don't know? Maybe he's picking up my worry... or cat food smell on my fingers. smiley9

Thanks everyone, the cats welcome all the hugs and ear scritches they can get. I really appreciate all of your questions and ideas - you get it.

I'll be more Mona. smiley10

Hugs,

Kerren, Tripawd Kitty Mona, and Sentry Eli
