Hi all!! I thought I would pop back in and let you know how my "Little Man" is doing. I could not be happier with his recovery. He is running, playing and tackling the other kittens & cats like he never had a stump or surgery!! I keep trying to get a video but he moves so fast it is impossible! He has no fear of anything which is a bit concerning. He jumps up onto things and down off of things like nothing! I keep thinking about what everyone has said about being careful since the "extra" leg is now gone, but there is no keeping this 7 month old down!! He doesn't cuddle in my lap anylonger like he did while he was in his recovery room, but he does sleep with me every night. As soon as I go to bed he is right there to curl up next to me and must be touching me.
He is currently being weaned off of gabapentin and so far so good. I'm about to put him to just twice a day on a decreased amount. The quiver that I saw while monitoring him in the recovery room has not been evident again. The vet had told me to keep an eye on it, but nothing has reappeared.
Here's a picture of my guy lounging on the counter! As you can see he is all but healed up and his fur is growing back in!!!!

That crazy Lucky! He looks fantastic, I'm thrilled things are going so well!
It's pawesome that his energy is back. Yes it's hard to keep a young cat under any kind of activity restrictions. You can modify your home environment to minimize jumping perches though, so he doesn't have as many high places from which he can injure himself. Make it as easy as you can for him to climb, by adding pet stairs and window perches.
I love that you are slowly weaning him off the Gabapentin, that's a good move. Too many people don't know that it shouldn't be stopped cold turkey so YAY YOU TOO!
Ok promise us that you'll keep sharing pics of your zoomy kitty, he's just adorable.
