Is Levon's litter box easy to get into? We cut the front of our box out for Purrkins also front leg amp. That made all the difference for him he could get in and out no problem . I did help him into the box the first day home until we cut the box out further. You might want to try putting him in the box and see if that is why he is holding the pee! Just a thought and idea!.

Get advice from your Vet on weight loss please , cats should not lose weight to fast. You have to be very careful. Great article on losing weight on cats very detailed and worth the read.

It took us a year to get off Purrkins weight its not easy slow and patient and a lot of complaining. Stay strong when you get to that aspect. Right now get Levon feeling better first. Make sure he is eating and really most cats if switched to all wet food will drop the weight just a fyi;)

Feel better Levon and then you can show your Dad how well 3 legged kitties do!

Hugs

Sorry about the measurement, I ended up sucking up the fluid into my syringe first, and left a little room for whatever the capsule powder would be in there. Squirted it into a bowl, mashed it with a spoon until it clarified, sucked it back up and gave it to him. I thought the rear leg amp would be tough with the litter box, but I have been very fortunate. I think your front amps are probably harder. Huckleberry likes to lift paws on to the side of the litter box almost spider like till he gets his balance and then he is good to go. He has used several styles and has had no problems so you will have to see what works for you. YAY! He did number ones and number poopicon_pngs !

Like Holly said, the weight loss should be the least of your worries right now. Slow weight losses are best. Kitty metabolisms are special. Dogs can go without food, people can too, cats can't. They can get very sick going without food for too long, so even if it is small amounts throughout the day until his pain is totally under control and he regains his appetite just keep doing what you are doing. Huckleberry was also on the buprenorphine and I got refills twice so he was probably on the 2 meds for about 2 weeks. These doctors (including my own!) just think chop a limb off, no big deal...it makes me SO angry madI have had several poopicon_pngfits and really had to put my foot down so you just do whatever you feel is necessary to get what you want. I ran out 3 times and it hurt the progress every time. Her view point was wait and see... mine is once you let them start to hurt again, its twice as hard to control it .. just like with a person.

Cant wait to see your pictures!

Take care,

Jackie, David, and Prince Huckles 🙂

Hugs,

Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry

How is Levon (and Daddy) doing?  Hopefully things are getting a bit easier as his recovery continues.

Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014.  Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer).  He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure.  He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.
