Oh HOPPY DAY! That's wonderful, it's got to feel so good to him to be free of that pesky tight skin. And now, on with the Ziggy and Herbie show! More pics please 😉

Well who am I to argue with their adoring fans? LOL
A rare snuggle and a not so rare Resting Grump Face from Ziggy.
Adoring fans indeed because Ziggy is so darn ADORABLE!!
OMC! His close up model pose is priceless. He clearly owns your computer mouse and knows how to be adorable doing it. Seeing him all snuggly in his blankie is deserving g of some ear scratches as he doses off.
So enjoyed these...thanks!

Now THAT is a great way to kick off the weekend! Ziggy and Herbie, you two boys always know how to make us smile. Thanks for checking in, you cats look fantastic. Everything going ok otherwise?

Everything is fantastic! Ziggy's fur is growing back so his stump is looking less, uh... like a certain part of the male anatomy when he sits down? LOL We're finally getting some cooler weather in Texas. It looks like I'll be on WFH through the end of the year and currently the boys are starting to circle like sharks since it's half an hour until their dinner. Herbie had to have a good long nap after being a holy terror all morning.
This is why I have a cat Instagram... I can't resist posting pictures of them. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

And Ziggy's smooshy snuggling face to kick off a lovely weekend!

Big hugs❤

Oh those boys, they win me over with their eyes every time, they are so gorgeous.
Yay for some sense of normalcy and no more odd looking body parts!
Cold in Texas eh? Does that mean it's like 75 now?

Oh goodness... the high here in Ky was 59 today 😱😱😱 Totally Wyatt weather🤣🤣🤣
My heat just turned on as i typed this.... low of 49 tonight...brrrrr
We're hanging in best we can. My family in New England is having health issues and this 💩💩💩 covid is stopping me from being there... just stinks. Total stress.
Photos would be fantastic! You're in my thoughts❤

Oh man, I'm so jealous of that high! We're still flirting with those gross summer temps here... I've lived here my whole life and I still hate it.
I really hope the health woes ease for your family! It's tough to not be there, just an added layer of helplessness. This Covid stuff is so crazy!
Honestly anyone is welcome to look us up on Instagram, just ignore the messy apartment that I don't always quiiiiiite get cropped out, oops!
It's been an age and I don't even know if anyone will see this, but I wanted to thank everyone here so much for all of the advice, reassurance, guiding questions, and straight up moral support that you all offered through our whole ordeal with Ziggy. Nobody had to but you did anyway, tirelessly, and it really made such a difference for us.
I'm very happy to report that we made it through that insane cold weather just fine - we lost power for almost four days and spent a lot of time wrestling the boys under blankets. The lowest it got in our apartment was a balmy 46 degrees, but it turned out that the cats actually enjoyed all of the bed time. Normally they don't get to sleep in there with us because they don't share the bed very well and Ziggy has a bad habit of putting his butt on my face when he decides it's time for breakfast.
What I'm even happier to report is that Ziggy is doing absolutely AMAZING. He's been fully healed for a while and his fur has completely grown back in, and to be honest we almost don't even remember what he was like before the accident. We have one of those Da Bird toys for them, and just in the last few weeks he's actually started jumping for it, all three feet off the ground! Sometimes he even adds a twist in with his jumping and we're amazed as how agile he is. He's FAST too, he always beats Herbie to the kitchen when the dinner bell goes off. He charges and tackles Herbie constantly, still bunny-kicks him when he gets him in a head-lock, he gets the crazies and scales the 6.5 foot cat tree in one go like it's no big deal. He's had one crash when he tried to jump onto my desk and didn't make it, but other than that he's good (aside from so dignity injury there). With wet food only three times a day, he's holding steady at 11.5 pounds and Herbie's slimmed down from 14 pounds to a little over 12!
We honestly had some really dark moments when this first happened. A fleeting thought that maybe it would be better to have him put to sleep, or that maybe we should have asked the vet if we could surrender him to them, both of which I think are probably pretty normal and passed quickly because hey, we love our boys. It was really tough with him, absolutely exhausting and terrifying and super stinky and gross at times (we had to throw away about 4 blankets because no amount of washing was getting rid of the cat pee smell) but every morning when we wake up and open the office door, Ziggy shoves his way out to smooth around our legs and say good morning. It was definitely worth all of the heartache and tears and sleepless nights, and I hope if anyone else at the beginning of their tripawd journey stumbles across this, they may take a little heart and see that there definitely is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank all of you so, so, so much, from the bottom of my heart. I can't even imagine how difficult all this would have been to face without this tremendous amount of combined knowledge and all of you amazing, supportive people. We have a happy, healthy little furry terrorist and it's thanks in no small part to all of you.
I'm over the moon Happy to read this!! Ziggy is a Tripawd Kitty RockStar👏👏
And thank you for your honest assessment about the "darker" times when you had doubts and questioned if this was the right path. That's important for anyone starting this journey to know and not feel so isolated when they have those emotions. It's NORMAL on this crazy journey!
And then to fast forward to reading all about how Happy Ziggy is and how it was worth every single second of sleep deprivation and heartache while dealing with recovery..
And one of my favorite parts about your post that had me LMAO:
Normally they don’t get to sleep in there with us because they don’t share the bed very well and Ziggy has a bad habit of putting his butt on my face when he decides it’s time for breakfast.
Hugs

Aww of course we would see it! Thank you for the update, you just made my day I'm thrilled he and Herbie are doing so well and getting back to their old antics. It is why we do what we do here!

Ugh, the butthole to the face. I sleep on my stomach/side, and he used to climb up onto my side, then over my shoulder onto the corner of the bed to lay propped against the corner of my pillow. And then if I didn't wake up, he'd go down the bed, hop over my knees nehind me, then climb up and sliiiiide down my arm back to the corner of the bed again. And he'd keep circling until I woke up. Only sometimes he'd miss on the slide and just plant his butt right on my cheek, ew!
OH NO I FORGOT THE PICTURES!!! I AM SO SORRY LOL
Ziggy's girlfriend the vet Tech is moving to Austin () so I put together an album for her to thank her for taking such good care of him so here you go! Ziggy's embarrassing album of kitten pictures
