Such great pictures. Such great kitties♥️♥️
Will leave, kitty advice to our knowledgable experts Jackie and Holly.
If the translation app could fix typos and make spell check understand what I MEANT to type properly, all would be well with the world. Cant rem5 exactly, but I typed something like :
"Such great news about your pippy... " (puppy) with spell check it came out "Such great news about your penis".
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Lollllllll...... translator and spell check are sometimes disconcerting, but at least they gives me many, many laughs. Luckily, we still manage to understand each other !
Once again, a huge thank you for all the valuable information.
I'll think about getting some other fluids. I already have something that looks a bit like the Catlit, but it's a good idea to vary it. I was very excited to try the tuna water, but she didn't even want to approach it when she loves tuna... 🙄
Yesterday, I was still a little worried because it was still bleeding especially in the morning.... but it ended up fading. The last two days have been very demanding, I even ran out of time to write (!). Today, the wound remained dry, so I hope we are on the right track. It's already day 7 post-op.
Thank you very much for the articles on the seroma . I read correctly. It's a pity that the veterinarians do not give us information on this subject. On the other hand, it does not seem to have a "pocket" full of liquid. I know it looks weird in the photo, but it really looks like excess skin hanging down.
There, I may foresee possible problems with the medication... I give her small treats "Pills pocket" but she finds it much less exciting than before. I hope I won't have to force her..
I also have concerns about abruptly stopping the medication. Isn't it a bit difficult for them? Wouldn't it be better to decrease gently for 1-2 days?
Tao finally risked, at the risk of his life lol, to come in the same room for longer periods. He stays away, but he no longer spits systematically. It will eventually work 🤞.
As I said the other day, Juliette is obviously very sticky, which was not necessarily in her habit. I have the impression of finding her as when she was little and I enjoy it a lot. I hope it will stay a bit when she is healed.
Once again, thank you all ❤️
You are so welcome! It's a good sign that the wound is not actively dripping serum now. Hard to say if that is actually a seroma
or not, but if it does start dripping again let your vet know.
As for stopping the pain medication, some vets Instruct clients to do a gradual withdrawal and some do not. It does seem like a gradual reduction would be easier doesn't it? Not sure if there's any actual proof of which way is better. If you feel Juliette is better served by a gradual reduction then ask your vet how to taper (reduce) dosages incrementally.
Sounds like Tao and Juliette are finding their "new normal" now. Life is getting better every day!

Ditto let your vet know if the incision starts to drip again. When do you follow up for sitch removal? It is a shame not all vets send instructions home for incision care ; it's a massive surgery. I was thankful ours did.
You have been fortunate to use the pill pockets this long 🙂 Many are not so lucky they eat the treat and spit the pill out. It's ok if she is not excited about them but still eating them. Maybe try another flavor, and if she refuses, yes, you will have to do an alternative way. Is your still on three meds?
Since you are comfortable syringing, I would go that route if need be. I syringe meds/supplements with a little bit of churu squeeze-up treat added ( If you have any of the squeeze-up treats, they work beautifully for syringing meds.) add a little liquid. ( just enough liquid to slurp back in the syringe). The squeeze-up tube helps with the thickness and less concern of aspirating them. Tuna juice does an excellent job of masking nasty meds.
If the gabapentin is a capsule, you can empty the capsule, add a bit of liquid (tuna water) squeeze up treat & and slurp it back in a syringe to Juliette.
The antibiotic depends on the kind & form. Capsule the same way as above; if it's a tablet, you have to make sure it is allowed to be crushed. If so, you can crush it, again add a little liquid & mix, little squeeze up tube and syringe that up to give to her. The Onsior is flavored. Some kitties will readily eat it. I know the Onsior says it should not be crushed. When it was prescribed for one of our cats, I asked our cat vet, and she said we could indeed crush it, and we did.
Syringing meds with a squeeze-up treat makes it less " forceful," not unpleasant, at least for our cats.
The extra skin Juliette has is less than Purrkins. It might tighten back up; you can always ask the vet when you follow up. I can only tell you Purrkins has more, and it has not caused any issues, and it won't be as noticeable after her fur grows in.
Excellent on all the progress with the kitties things will continue to get better!
Hugs and scratches to the kitties, please!

Hello, you are so kind! I'm going to the vet tonight to have the stitches removed, I was waiting until after that to write to you, but I'll take a few minutes to give you a quick summary.
Juliette finished her medication yesterday and I would say that it is making a difference. I'm not sure how to identify it, but she's been eating very little since last night and she doesn't look as good, like uncomfortable. So I don't know if it's the medication weaning (which I would have wanted to progress, even though the vet said it didn't make a difference, which I don't agree with!) or if it's because she's feeling a little pain, which I'm sure is the case too. So I'm going to talk to him about it tonight.Tao has started to get closer, but on HIS terms...
If she moves, he keeps spitting 🤦♀️🙄.
Quite a case lol. I hope I don't start from the beginning after my vet visit tonight. Poor him, he looks so mean when he is so sweet and on top of that he looks fat lolll, but he's not and he's only weighs 12 pounds, it's Juliette with her little 6 pounds that makes him look like that.
I'll be back with more news after that, I'm really looking forward to getting rid of the cone.
I used the translator DeepL instead of Google translation, it seems a bit better, do you see a difference?
I wish you a wonderful day 🙂
We appreciate you taking a few minutes for a summary! We hope you get the go-ahead for cone-free Juliette today! 🤞🏻
There is a pain in the butt way to avoid redirected aggression after a vet visit. Take Tao with you. They will both smell the same way. It has worked for us anyway:)
Yes, I notice a difference in the DeepL good to know there are others;)
Best of luck with the visit!
Scratches to Juliette and Tao, please.

Thank you Holly, I have been wondering myself. I have never taken the cats together to the vet (but I have 4, lol) that is a fantastic idea! I usually just keep the one that went separated for a while so that they get the vet smell off of them and go on but it is always a crap shoot.
I agree that more meds might be needed if you are seeing that much of a change. I had to really push hard to get Huck the meds he needed. It really is shameful that they think this is no big deal 🙁
Hopefully with suture removal and cone off the spitting will stop. Keeping fingers, toes, paws, and tails crossed for you!
Like the new translator! Seems more fluent.
Keep up the good work
Hugs,

That IS brilliant about taking both cats to the vet together! Not fun but it puts them on an even playing field. Love that idea!

Aww I'm sorry. Let us know what your vet thinks about continuing with the meds. There is no one standard amount of time for every cat, they are all individuals, just like people. I hope you can get her feeling good again.
I think once that cone comes off, Tao will be nicer to his sister again.
The translator is pretty good! I didn't know about DeepL, thank you.
Keep us posted!

Yea, Jackie hauling four cats to the vet, would be a chore:) LOL
It does work, and our vet did not mind and understood. Saxton stayed in his carrier for the visit, but it did solve the problem! ✅ We have done the same as you on multiple occasions, and it is indeed a crapshoot on how it goes.

Exactly, Rene, it does even the playing field & worked purrfeclty!
Hope to see Juliette got the green light for cone free & you got some more meds sent home!
