Hi everyone,
Just wanted to update you after our vet visit.
Teeth look fine, no tumors, no fleas or mites. Something neurological (neuralgia or hypersthesia.. maybe?) So. we just let him itch.. She says its hard to know.
She gave us some gabapeptin to try for a little bit, and I will look for a homeopathic remedy for neuralgia in cats..
He is great other than being unhappy to go to the vet. 🙂
Thanks everyone so much for your help and support!
Blessings
Asrael
Thanks for the update! Bummer that the cause can't be figured out though. Weird. Glad to know he's doing well otherwise though
Hope the Gaba helps or that some Holistic remedies do the trick.
Give that sweet kitty a good chin scratch for me!
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
So glad to hear he is doing ok I have tried Zylkene with Huckleberry. Hard to know if it's the supplement or he is just feeling better, but it is a calming supplement. Another supplement, Rescue Remedy, is all natural homeopathic. You add a couple of drops to their water, that's it. It is an all natural supplement that is supposed to encourage calmness. I don't know if these things would help but I thought I would throw them out there.
So nice to hear from you!
Hugs,
Jackie

Hey thanks for letting us know. I'm glad the vet was able to take a look. We'll be keeping our paws crossed that the Gaba works!

I do hope the Gaba helps! I would try that before the homeopathic remedy to know if it helps or not see what your dealing with. If you don’t see improvement with the Gaba talk with your Vet again or get a second opinion. She ran blood work etc too? Diabetes still in remission?
The homeopathic remedy for nerve issues is Hypericum Perforatum we used that on Purrkins after his Gaba ran out after his amp.
Is laser or acupuncture a option for Trouble? A option to consider if you can swing it. I believe that would help.
Give Trouble a extra chin scratch for us and do hope he becomes more comfortable with any route you take!
Hugs.

Well, it's good to hear that all the scary options have been ruled out! The mystery is puzzling and I hope the gaba helps so he at least feels more comfy despite the lack of an answer. Thanks for the update!

I loved life as a tripawd for over three years following right forelimb amputation due to an aggressive and recurrent hemangiopericytoma. I reclaimed my place among the gods and valkyries in Valhalla on November 11th, 2020. My parents miss me tremendously, but I know they'll keep me in their hearts forever... and don't worry, I've approved my mom's use of my Tripawds account.
