A fellow dog lover just let us know about this special pup at the Lost and Found Dog Rescue in Wilmington, Delaware who is still in need of a foster home. Please visit the L&F website for complete information about adopting Barnaby.
Barnaby is a Lab/Hound mix about one and a half years old. A special friend has paid his vet bills, so there will be no adoption donation required for Barnaby! Plus the shelter will provide a one year supply of the the joint pain medication he needs to manage his pain from losing his leg.
He is a very loving boy and gets along well with most dogs, but not cats. He is young and strong but the weight of his body makes his remaining front leg bend in a painful way.
Barnaby’s vet has recommended daily medication to maintain comfort in his joints. This prescribed supplement is called Dasuquin MSM Large Dog, 150 Chewable Tablets. He will need this indefinitely.
Barnaby loves people and he is a true companion dog. We are hopeful that there is a special family who is willing to give him all the love and devotion he deserves for the rest of his life – and I know will return tenfold!
Hi, I would love to adopt Barnaby because he feel just wright but we have two Beagles and a bunny that are calm.Does he get along with bunnies and laid back dogs.Keep me posted
Thanks for asking! Considering this post is over two years old, we can’t answer your question, consider contacting the shelter directly or checking the Tripawd Rescue Forum for other three legged dogs in need of a good home.
My husband and I tried to adopt this handsome boy to be a companion to our other 3-legged dog. However, the woman in charge of this rescue very rudely denied our application for just 1 reason – my husband is in the military. We would have provided a wonderful forever home for Barnaby, but we weren’t given a chance. This rescue would rather see Barnaby live in foster care for months on end than go to a loving, permanent home. Sorry Barnaby. 🙁
Sorry to hear about this. Thanks for the update.
I was one of the lucky drivers that helped transport Barnaby to the rescue he is in now. I just wanted to add what a great dog he is. This was a short time after
his amputations. He was so loving and friendly and active. He did great with the
8 other dogs (all sizes!) on the transport. He played at the transfers and interacted
with all of us – again, all ages, children included. If you a looking for a young, active great companion, please consider Barnaby. He will give you a lifetime of love. Susan R, a very grateful transporter

Hello! I had the pleasure of helping Barnaby get from a high-kill shelter in NC to a wonderful rescue in Wilmington, DE. He even got to overnight at my house. What a sweet, handsome boy! I pray someone will see his face and fall in love. Barnaby needs a forever home without kitties. Is it yours?
