Love finds us in the most unexpected places sometimes. In today’s Tripawd Tuesday feature, you’ll enjoy the sweet story of how Lawri beat the feline fibrosarcoma odds. Here is their story, as told by Rosary, aka @Marilynmagoo.
Lawri Shows How Feline Fibrosarcoma Odds Can Be Wrong
Lawri and sister, Pangi, were found wandering at our hotel in Barbados. We flew them home and found out they were about five weeks old.
My 17 year old cat, Muffin, had feline injection site fibrosarcoma. We made her comfortable, but amputation was ruled out. At age 5, Lawri was diagnosed with the same illness. (One in 10,000 cats get this?). After amputation, 19 radiation treatments were recommended. Still, they said it would probably return.
In 2016, her beloved sister died of a brain tumor. We make sure Lawri has extra love, as they were inseparable.
Lawri will be 13 soon. She was the best patient and so brave. She is an example of the odds not always being correct. Sheâs our little hoppy girl who gets where she wants to go and climbs too. Cancer free for 8 years and many more !

Hello! What great news that your kitty has beaten the odds! I would like to chat with you about the radiation. Did you proceed with this? I am wondering whether amputation is enough or must we do that along with radiation? Thank you! My kitty has only undergone her first limited excision.
Best wishes for your cat! Find much more help in the discussion forums than you will here via comments on this blog post. Tripawds members can also use Private Messaging and the Live Chat to connect with others.
