Tripawd Tuesday: Minnie From Survivor to Superstar

This Tripawd Tuesday, we’re celebrating Minnie, a joyful pup who went from rescue to royalty and now rules her world on three legs.

Tripawd Tuesday Minnie Reminds Us Why Second Chances Matter

Minnie may have started life with heartbreak, but now she’s a happy, confident girl who zips through her days on three legs like it’s no big deal. She loves roughhousing with her two dog brothers, snoozing in the coziest corners, and soaking up all the love her mom Michele gives her in Frankfort, Illinois. She’s living proof that amputation doesn’t stop a dog from living fully—and being totally spoiled while doing it.

This story is a joyful reminder that Tripawds are just as playful, cuddly, and lovable as any pup. Minnie will steal your heart and maybe your couch, too.

Tripawd Tuesday Q&A: Minnie’s Story

How old is your Tripawd?

About 1 year

Tongue out, tail up—Minnie’s ready for anything!

When and why did your Tripawd lose a leg?

She lost her leg before we adopted her due to a broken leg becoming severely infected. She was neglected and almost died until she was rescued by an amazing group that nursed her back to health. Now she is a happy girl and spoiled girl!

How did your Tripawd adapt to life on three? Did the reality match your expectations?

She doesn’t miss a beat! She runs and plays like any other dog. The only real challenge we face with her is she has trouble doing stairs and gets tired quickly on walks. I expected many more challenges when adopting a Tripawd!

Soaking up sunshine like a pro.

What are your Tripawd’s favorite things to do?

Minnie loves to play with her two four-legged brothers, enjoys treats, and loves laying in a comfy bed or couch with her humans.

Pawsitively rocking that harness look.

What is the biggest lesson you learned from your Tripawd so far?

That it is possible to overcome obstacles if you put your mind to it. Never stop fighting!

Minnie knows the best beds are the fluffiest.

What is your best advice to someone who is about to go through amputation with their pet, or someone who is thinking of adopting a Tripawd?

Since Minnie was already a Tripawd when we adopted her my advice is to never overlook disabled dogs when looking to adopt! They bring so much joy and a sense of gratitude to life. At the end of the day they are the same as other dogs.

Field of dreams, one paw at a time.
