I am trying to get my dog into Univ of Fl veterinary hospital but may be too long a wait. In the meantime,
I have consultations set up at Animal Cancer Care clinic in Orlando and Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Maitland. Does anyone have opinions of either of these places for a dog with bone cancer?
Any other places that someone would highly recommend? Even better if for a large breed dog.
Other than U of F, I would say that Animal Cancer Care would be the way to go, because that is ALL they do. They are not AAHA-accredited which is a bummer, but they do have a huge roster of boarded practitioners, which is awesome.
No word back from U of F?
Unfortunately, my vet’s office told me they got the referral and records to UF yesterday. I called UF just to make sure they received and they had not! As of my making calls, they confirmed they had everything by the end of today. 3 days wasted just on getting paperwork over.
The place I did the consult at yesterday suggested stereotactic radiation/chemo/bone strengthener and we can always change course and amputate but they don’t actually do the radiation there. Today was spent calling all around and trying to get him in for a consult with a place that does.
