My greyhound, Nicki, recently had her right front leg amputated due to a soft tissue tumor. Jerry suggested I share my vet's information as she specializes in greyhounds. Greyhounds have special anesthesia needs and it's difficult to find a vet who truly specializes in their care. Dr. Moore is a fellow "greyhound lady" and provides amazing support. If you visit the office there are usually greyhounds in the waiting area or laying in the recovery area - greyhounds get to lay in comfortable pins or behind the front desk to recover and not in crates like some offices. There are two greyhound adoptions groups in the area and Dr. Moore does all the vetting when those dogs retire from the racetrack. She does book a few weeks out but if you have a greyhound who has any lumps or bumps be sure to tell the receptionist - they try to see all greyhounds within a day or two.
