My 13 year old Miniature Aussie (Kody) has been under the care of the oncologist (Jennifer Arthur) at Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies for follow up chemo treatment for a cancerous anal gland tumor that was removed in June by an awesome team in California before I relocated to Colorado.  Kody was doing great and was halfway through his chemo protocol with no ill effects. Then I noticed a lump on his left front paw in early September.  Fast forward to present - the lump was an osteosarcoma. We made the difficult decision to amputate his left front leg last week. I was an unbelieving emotional wreck, to say the least. Totally unrelated cancer to the previous condition, I could not believe that my brave boy was facing another type of cancer and yet another surgery. I spent a ton of time with the surgeon, Dr. Dana DeSandre-Robinson and oncologist, Dr. Jennifer Arthur.  They were so compassionate, informative, reassuring … understanding and caring… In fact, the entire team at Vets of the Rockies goes above and beyond.  A week past his surgery, my little Tripawd, Kody is adapting well. We have a road ahead of us after his stitches are removed next week, because he will resume the remainder of his chemo for his previous condition.  We’ll walk this journey a day at a time and I know that I will have the support and care of Dr. Arthur and team at every step of the way.  Sorry for the long post - it has truly been a journey!!

Aww thank you Karen! We always appreciate firsthand reviews from Tripawd parents. This is one of the most major surgeries any animal can go through so it's important to have a team you can trust. Your clinic looks amazing! And since they are also AAHA-accredited you know you are getting the gold standard of vet medicine.

Here's a link to the clinic:

Thank you for joining us! Please let us know how we can help you and Kody (and Bella!) in any way. We look forward to getting to know your pack.
