I'm hoping someone can help my bubby Scout out with one of the harness' made for front paw amputee's. Hes large, about 65-70lbs. Anything else you think would be useful for him would be amazing too. He is very young, active, and fit so whatever would help him stay active. He is a right leg amputee, they took the shoulder too. He is 1 week and 4 days post-op if this helps any. Thanks for anyone's consideration
Hi there. Keep in mind that there are no harnesses specifically made for front leg amputees but there are ones we recommend here:

It would help to have Scout's girth measurement since harnesses are sized by girth (widest part of the ribcage, see the individual harness reviews in our store to learn how to measure).

Thank you! I'm sorry I haven't done all the research on gear until now. Between college, work, a human baby, Scout baby, and the rest of the zoo I have my hands full most of the time!
Time to find my measuring tape and find out what size is good for him. I know he's pretty broad chested so we will see.
And again, if anyone has something they could part with that could help keep his activity up once he's healed I will be forever grateful. He can get pretty chunky if I let him and I'm afraid he will put on weight because the amputation is making him less active for now. I heard because he is big extra weight will hurt his joints.
No need to apologize, you DO have your hands full! We're here to help with pointing out resources, so never be afraid to ask questions OK?
Yes, extra weight on a Tripawd is risky and can make them prone to joint stress. Be aware of his weight and you'll both do fine.
