My beautiful boy, Zin, went to the bridge 7 weeks ago. He underwent a right front limb amputation secondary to a soft tissue sarcoma. I modified several tee-shirts for him to wear immediately post-op to protect his incision, keep him warm and comfy and, honestly, to lessen the visual impact of him being shaved and bruised. I have them all nicely washed and folded and can't bring myself to throw them away. It would make me happy to know that they could be of some help to another tripawd. Zin was a Flat-Coated retriever, about 75 lbs and deep chested. These are size L and XL adult t-shirts with the right sleeve cut off and sewn shut, some have the neck enlarged and the 'trunk' part narrowed. They'd probably fit any bigger Retriever breed, Shepherd, etc. I suppose they could be turned inside out to be used for a dog with a left front limb amputation. Katie, my heart just aches knowing that Zin left us so early, please accept my condolences.
Your offer to give the shirts away is incredibly generous, I know that's just gotta be hard. I'm sure that someone's dog will enjoy them very, very much.

That was very kind of you. We are all so sorry for your loss. You did everything you could and your boy knows how much you loved him.
The loving care you took to make the t-shirts for him...very sweet.....I understand how you want them to continue to do good......very life affirming and kind.
He took that love with him UST as he .EFT you with a lot of his love tucked safely and eternally in your heart
Please post us some pictures of your boy......I just know he had to be strikingly handsome! Send us one of your favorite photos that really made you smile a lot....a whole lot!

Katie, I just want to add to TRY and remember how blissfully happy he was before he "crossed over to the other side of life". I went back ad looked at your post when you had to let him go and was reminded of the "no oles barred" attitude you had when doing everything you could for Zin. To have not had more time was gut wrenching and heart breaking. To have had the time you did where you could spoil him and love him at a depth you didn't even think possible----that was a gift.
You two made the potential "worst of times" be your "best of times" an you are a role model for us all.
You are one special pawparents and have a con section of love that IS eternal and CANNOT be broken.
Your Zin is having a blast being an Angel! Probably shaking things up quite a bit!! understand the water temperature in doggy heaven is just right for flat coated retrievers t swim and play all DA long:-) 
We will always be here for you and we all love you.

I have not been back to this site much since posting this, and coming back to check the status I found all the lovely comments about Zin. I'm so touched. He was a wonderful boy and I still miss him a lot. I will try to post some pictures of him this week. Thank you all for your kindness.

We got the shirts, the surprise cool pack and tripawds kerchief and the harness. OH my goodness. Thank you sooooo much. The harness is exactly what I just ordered!!! I'm going to return mine & get a flotation vest instead! Much love, Star & Bella... She's doing really great by the way. She's amazing me! I'll send some photos when I get back to the land of the internet!
