OK folks, hang onto your hats. We have a few event details here that I want to share with you, and I'm hoping you'll all be OK with this slight change in plans:
- A happy hour mixer will be held on Saturday May 23, sometime in the late afternoon.
- The main event will be held on Sunday May 24, starting at 1pm
The reason for the date change is that we (i.e., Greyhounds Rock folks, Admin & myself) think that a Sunday event would be better for more people since they can travel on Saturday to get there, and then leave on Monday, Memorial Day. That way, the folks who work weekdays and get the holiday off won't have to take a day off for traveling.
More details coming soon but before we start getting the word out, I just want to make sure these dates are OK with everypawdy who's been in this discussion so far. Thoughts?

Since I work Saturday's, this really works for me! Hopefully my husband won't have on call duty again and can join the madness but I plan to attend.
Wow, finally caught up on all of this!!! Sounds like a blast! I could possibly make it depending on work. And it's a bit of a haul for me so I'd had to ask off for Friday and Saturday to really be able to enjoy it. So if I can make it, it would be possibly 2 humans and 2 puppers. I'll hopefully know in a week or so if it's a possibility.

Domino had his left front leg amputate on May 13th 2014 after being hit by a car. He's now living a happy healthy life on three legs :)

Yay! Can't wait! Question, the Pet friendly hotel, is there a limit on number of pups? I looked up one recently and the limit was one. Oops, I will have 2, possibly 3 with me. My hubby has offered to babysit Lucy though. I may take him up on it 
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

The hotel is pretty dog friendly: it's the headquarters for Greyhounds Rock conferences so they should be OK with multiple dogs but we'll let you know for sure.
Cassie, you should plan to make the trip with Karma (in Atlanta) and Ingrid (near Charlotte, I think)! A Tripawd Mom road trip!!!!

Actually, does anyone know if there are any campgrounds close by? We are thinking of towing our camper down, bringing all 3 pups and making a whole weekend of it. If someone can just get me an exact address, I can do a search and find one. This is going to be such fun! Lori, Ty & the canine 3

Oh ... I need to stop reading this thread.... it sounds like SO MUCH FUN!!!! Jasper Lily and I just can't make it happen (however the thought of Jasper and Lucy in a trailer together does make me giggle).

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Lori, closest campground I know of is Lake Anna State Park. Super nice place! About 20 minutes from Fredericksburg. We stayed there once.
