Well.. it's been 6 days for Franklin the Flatulent having his front leg leg amputated... and let me tell you.. I too own one amazing tripawd doggers! He is happy.. tail waggin.. still off balance sometimes, but learning! and he is so proud of himself.. you can almost hear him say... "what? no problem.. be there in a minute" as he is three pawed hopping along with you. And he looks just so gosh darn cute all wrapped up in his bandages.. almost like he is being snuggled!!
I thank you all for your kind words, helpful hints and cyber strength! It really is true that it is harder on the owners... I think we should be prescribed meds as well!!! hahaha
Yet.. I am proud that I did not cry when I saw my puppers.. he was sooo happy to see me.. I had no room for tears.. just giggles and lovins!
I posted some day by day status in my blog.. gotta run and get some lunch.. but will keep posted with more questions, etc.. and of course sharing the experiences!!
bark atcha later!
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
Yay Franklin way to go! So great to hear how well he is doing!
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. "Like" Jill's facebook page: https://www.fac.....tty?ref=hl Proud member of the WINTER WARRIORS!!!! Her blog can be read at http://jillsjou.....ipawds.com. xoxo
Franklin is precious! Glad to hear he is doing so well and adapting so quickly. And you are right, it is the humans that would probably benefit from the drugs.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so glad Franklin is doing so well. It's so rewarding. Lot of love to both of you!
