Update: Cody, our chocolate boy was accepted into a clinical trial for a new chemo drug that in theory is supposed to more effectively target osteo cancer cells. He had his first treatment 2 weeks ago. He did great ...no side effects at all (he was great on the Carboplatin too) so I think we have just been lucky. He had an X-ray done on his lungs this past Monday one week post treatment which unfortunately showed 2 more lung mets...All the mets are very small less than 1mm our vet said. We were hoping for no new mets after the treatment but it was not to be. Our vet is still hopeful, His next treatment and x-ray is coming up in 2 weeks so we are keeping our fingers crossed all the mets stay small and no more new ones!! Cody is still his rambunctious, playful self so we just make sure we cherish and love him every single day. I was causiously optimistic about this new treatment and my bubble was burst a liitle with the finding of the new tumors. It's a reminder of just how aggressive this cancer can be so we treat every day as a gift as we should always! BTW.....still no regrets!

We will be keeping Cody in our thoughts that this new trial works.  Please keep us posted.

That's great to hear that Cody's still as spunky as ever! You know, we can still have a great life even with lung mets. Mine were discovered in March of '08, but they were probably there long before that (I didn't have x-rays for about a year prior).

We would love to hear more details about the trial he is on, who's doing it, etc., if you have time to share.

We send our love and good wishes! Keep us posted.

I'm glad that Cody is still feeling well!  It is good that his mets are small, and there is still hope that the new drug can slow their growth and keep them that way.  The most important thing is that he is feeling no pain.

I am going to xray Tazzie's lungs tomorrow.  She is feeling fine but the last few days has not wanted to eat much.  Hopefully it is only because I had to give her Tramadol and antibiotics for a cyst between her toes.  I will let you know.

Thanks for keeping us updated on the trial.

We are also saying our prayers that the clinical trials work for Cody.  So glad to hear he is his acting like his playful happy self!  Please give Cody warm hugs from us!  Smile

Also, good luck to you - Pam and Tazzie with the chest x-ray tomorrow!  You both will also be in our prayers this evening as will all of our incredible furry tripawds!
