Actually we raised the water and food bowls using terra cotta flower pots and bases. Handy, inexpensive and versatile!

So many creative thinkers we have amongst us...I hadn't heard of that one! Great thinking! smiley

Being food aggressive, yes maybe not the greatest of ideas to hand feed...I also wonder if I'm encouraging Sandy to be extra lazy some days as I do bring her food bowls to her on some days. I just think to myself that we've had 12yrs of routines & rules & now it's all about her enjoying some extra spoiling in life smiley They turn us extra soft don't they!

When Sandy came off her meds after staple removal her appetite did improve..it was keeping a balance between ensuring she was comfy off them whilst knowing how she'd improved off them. Great that you have your next appointment to discuss this with your vet for you to make that decision.

Our vet also reminded me that pets reserve their energy on less food to help healing so not to panic too much. Easier said than done though right...hoping you too get to celebrate the great food eating days hopefully not too far ahead! Small things that make us feel more comfortable that they're okay!

Dawnie you have such great feedback! And yes, even spoiling our pups can have some ramifications. Check out this video by the rehab vets at CARE, they discuss this topic here:
