Thank you all so much for your encouragement and kind words. The family is doing our best to ignore the cancer diagnosis, and you are right, Brandy has no idea what is going on, so why dwell on it. Brandy had a great weekend of swimming in the pool and napping. She is doing just fine and now we are going to spoil the heck out of her! She has been on a strict diet for the past few months because the doctor thought her problem was arthritis so he wanted her under-weight. She is back on her regular diet plus some serious treats!! Also, we started slipping her a little bit of "mary-jane", LOL, it really seems to help with any pain and she sleeps so soundly. We are just going to do things day by day and make sure she enjoys every minute.
Looking back on things, we are extremely happy that we went the amputation/chemo route, even with all of the problems Brandy had with the infections. We gave her so much quality time and she gave us so much back! Brandy will continue to sip her mai-tai's, swim in the pool and enjoy her long afternoon naps.
