My Dane just came home from complete front left limb amputation. Since we've had her home, we've notice significant edema in the paw of her right front limb. They did nothing to the vasculature of that limb. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this with their pet & should I take her in to the vet?
Thanks!
Hi and welcome! What’s your dog’s name?
Yes we have seen this before and usually it’s nothing serious, just body fluid remaining from the amputated leg. There are many people who have reported this soon after surgery, especially with front limb amps. But play it safe and let your vet know, they may want you to bring her in for a look. Let us know ok?
