Keeping Tripawds fit and trim is very important indeed. Check out Trouble's canine reducing diet and be sure to replace any treats with green beans, carrots or a favorite toy. You'll find more helpful dog diet advice by searching the Tripawds Nutrition blog.

Trouble's reducing diet was a godsend for us.  From the time of her surgery until her chemo was done, she lost 13 pounds.  About a year later, the weight started to creep back on.  This diet got her back to the lower weight and she stayed there very successfully.  She always seemed satisfied and didn't act like we were starving her.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

The veggies can be canned, frozen, or fresh.  I have some of the dicalcium phosphate left. If you want it, PM me your address.  Along with the diet she got a glucosamine supplement and fish oil.

Thanks! I'm curious as to why the dicalcium phosphate- do they not get enough calcium & phosphorus from food or is there a reason that cancer dogs need extra?

It is to make sure they get the right amount of calcium.  This diet is not specific to cancer dogs, only to those needing to lose weight.
