Ruby's smiling after a great year as a TripawdÂ
i can't believe it has only been a year. It seems like it was AGES ago that we were in the thick of Ruby's amputation after Histoplasmosis. It wasn't without its scares especially at first. We thought for sure she had relapsed at about 3 months but it turns out she had a few infections and sprained muscles along the way.Â
Shes doing great now but it's always a battle keeping her weight down especially because of the pred. She still is not able to hike far but loves her walks.Â
We will forever be indebted to the people who maintain and post regularly to this site. We wanted to stay in touch but of course life gets in the way !! Â But Ruby, Kacy and I will FOREVER love all of you.Â

Congratulations on one year beautiful Ruby! Â Steak, cake and ice cream are in order maybe in somewhat smaller portions because you're watching your weigh but still in order! Â Celebrating with you! Â Looking awesome pretty "red" lady!

It's stories like Ruby's that help new folks see that there IS life after three legs. She had a ruff go of things for a while but now look at her. What a girl!
