Liz, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am that the cancer is not behaving. News like that really hurts and makes you feel like you've been sent back to day one. My heart goes out to you.
It does sound to me like your docs really are focused on quality of life, which is great. I can't recall ever meeting one vet who placed quantity over quality, and I hope I never do.
When you can come up with a plan that both you and your vets are enthusiastic about, that's so critical for keeping you sane and hopeful at a time like this. I hope that the cancer will stabilize quickly with this strategy, so that Roxie can have a good quality of life for as long as possible. It sure sounds like she's responding pawsitively to things, how awesome that she ate such a fun dinner!
Like anything in life, you just never know how things will go, so forget the bad news for now...we will stay hopeful and pawsitive for Roxie and the pack. We send all our love to you all, keep us posted.

I LOVE YOU GUYS.
Roxie had the best day in a week. Had to scold hubby b/c he said she "sneaked out" on him while he was letting Smokey out and she toddled right down the 3 steps off the back deck....NO NO NO!!!! First of all, although she's lost 6 POUNDS (the wrong way - don't tell Happy Hannah) she still glows white and doesn't really sneak anywhere. Gotta use the ramp by the side door - trying to keep that partial tear "partial". Of course, this is the guy who lied to his golf league to get back to playing 3 weeks before the surgeon who'd done his rotator cuff repair said it was ok. Not even going to talk about the post-heart attack behaviors. Not to worry; we have wills. sigh. Just don't want her losing the mobility she does have b/c she's feeling too good. Can't believe the turnaround from just the Rimadyl.
Talked to primary care vet tonight so he's ready for "the call". I always feel better when I talk to him; he's always there for us, and he's also hoping for many days and nights of pizza crusts, fro yo, and anything else herself desires. Bought another pound of roast beast on the way home tonight. So we're ready.

That is WONDERFUL , WONDERFUL update! And if I can ever get this compter working right, I think I can show you one thing that's been helping HRH Roxie feel better!! Of course it's the compiter.....couldn't be me!!!
I am soooo hapy she's feeling better now. May still have some ups and downs while she's getring her strength back and giving the rimadyl even more time to help.
Couple of asides.....the book was Celestine Prophecy by James Redford (or Redmond)....no sure what you got!
Your previous comments were very nice and made me:. I've got the best people in the world here as my role models, including yourself! We are all ONE on this joirney and are all here for each other in so many ways!
You gotta' give your hubby a little slack simply because...he's a man!!

waiting...waiting..hanging...hanging...Roxie said to wake her when "it" arrives; she's busy digesting pizza crust and flank steak and fro yo and veg beef soup and a Zuke's grilled chicken breast filet (with rosemary, turmeric, and sage, excusemeverymuch)...and that was just since I got home at 7. Not huge amounts, but tapas-like bites. Works for us.
Conspiracy...Prophesy....that's the one I got!! Came from one of Amazon's marketplace sellers; very carefully hand-wrapped from Maine. I would love to be there right now!! I would love to have a business like that!!!
Nice job conserving breath.
Oh, and 2 more things that make today a minor miracle:
she POOPED tonight; normal no 'rhea....WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! and
she's sleeping on her back with her front paws up in the air right now; her Snoopy happy hoppy dog dance sleeping position. can a ROO be far behind??????
