Good Morning all
I know we all have amazing dogs but I have to tell you, Roxi is a trooper.Ā Yesterday afternoon she started acting like her old self, fussing at the cats, head up, ears perked and she POOP'd!!!Ā I was so excited to see that!Ā Her incision looks amazing but yesterday she started licking just a bit so I had to do the inevitable, the CONE!Ā She looked pitiful but I told her it was for her own good, she'll thank me later.Ā šĀ I go back to work tomorrow and am a little nervous but I'm sure she'll be fine.Ā Ā
again, thank you all for the comments, concern for poop and suggestions!!!

Oh YEAH! Poop is the best isn't it? Funny how we get all giddy over it here, but once you haven't seen your dog go for days, it's easy to understand. I'm so happy she did the deed!
Good for you about being vigilant with the cone. Yeah, it's pathetic, but it usually works. Let us know how it goes when you leave her alone. Hopefully she'll just nap all day and wait for you to get home! Keep us posted.

So happy to hear this! My dog Leah had her rear right leg amputated on April 11th. First few days are so scary!!!! Starting day 4 post-op she seemed to turn a corner and is even better today. Try not to worry about going to work and the cone. Roxi will get the rest she needs while you are there. I am also going back to work tomorrow and think it will actually be a break for me as well! Keep us posted!

Update on Roxi!!!
She is doing do good!Ā I got a call from the vet with her pathology report - synovial myxoma.Ā PRAISE GOD!!!Ā Vet said he got it all and there is very little chance it will come back.Ā Amputation was the best thing to do and Roxi is rockin' on her 3 legs.Ā She even hopped on the couch, which she hasn't done it about 8 to 10 months.
We go back for her post op checkup on Tuesday and will have the stitches taken out.Ā I think she will be so excited to be able to finally lay on that hip.Ā
Thank you for this site, it's been amazing to have people to reach out to for questions concerning such a major issue.

Awww that is terrific news! I hadn't heard of a "synovial myxoma" so I had to look that one up and learned that yep, pretty darn good prognosis! WHEEE!!!
Hey now that she's on the mend don't forget our Tripawds Foundation Rehabilitation Reimbursement program. Take her to a CCRT or CCRP credentialed practitioner and the foundation will reimburse you for your first rehab visit ! It's a pawesome way to learn about what Roxi is capable of doing and what you can do to keep her strong and injury free.
Sooo happy to hear things are looking up!
