Day 15 after surgery. Rahley is recovering very well.   no pain meds for 4 days.  He is smiling, wagging his tail, and hopping around. We imagine he is not having the kind of pain he was experiencing with the tumor in his underarm area.  He hadn't been using his left leg for about 2 months.

We are pleased he seems so happy, and hardly any discomfort.  We find out about what kind of tumor it is , in about another week.

YAAAAAY FOR RAHLEY!!!+ Delighted to hear how well he is doing.  Often members say that, even with the painmof recovering  from surgery at first, there seems to be less pain than before the surgery.  So thanks for sharing that.  It's important for new members  who are undecided  to know.

Give him a big smooch for us🥳

Hugs

We had a vet appt on July 19 , and they explained the next treatment options.  Since Rahley was diagnosed as auto immune two years ago, they have to be careful with treatment options. His tumor was sent to a research hospital.  They can create a vaccine from it, and send it back to my vet.

He then will have 3 injections weekly for 3 weeks.  This along with Melixocam, which has anti- cancer properties, and will help with the arthritis we expect he will have soon. Rahley threw up once when he had Melixocam two months ago, and we stopped it by advice of vet. But we are hoping it was a fluke thing. Will start him back up on it and see if he tolerates it this time around.

This tumor has a 20% of reoccurence, and he isn't quite 9 yet. So it might be quite awhile before we need to look at the last option, which is chemo. But right now, Rahley is doing very well.

Hey how did it go with the Meloxicam? Is he doing well?

With that type of tumor and grade, he should be OK for a long time, if not indefinitely! We'll keep our paws crossed.
