We're sending lots of healing thoughts and hugs to you and Etta. We'll keep all fingers and paws crossed that she will respond to the prednisone.
Hugs,
Holly, Zuzu and Susan
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Thanks everyone for your kind words of support! Etta is doing a little bit better today. We are still deep in the woods but we are still in the wait and see mode.
Because Etta is such a lady she has been refusing to pee on the pads. It got so bad that she was distressed and was panting. I drug her mat (with her on it) to the backyard and lifted her with her harness and a sling on the grass. I was surprised that she actually postured and pee'd. I put her on her outside mat after and propped her up. For the first time she laid straight up with her head up. (as opposed to laying on one side). She has been continually on her left side since this happened.
She also was slightly weight baring when posturing as well. All of these are good signs! I think the pred is definately helping. She went to rehab and acupuncture and also got a b-12 shot. All of which helped her. She is comfortable which is MOST important. It's definately day by day. I am cautious ... not quite caustiously optomistic yet... but working on it.

Our angel "Etta" amputation on 4-15-10 lost her front limb. initially dx'd with neurofibrosarcoma. However, after surgery they discovered histiocytic sarcoma a very aggressive cancer. After two full rounds of chemo our special angel lost her battle on 6-21-10. the sweetest and most gentle soul. Our lives are forever blessed for having known her...
Come on sweetheart, you can do it. We all have our doggie paws crossed for you.
