He is one handsome dude and looks like he is in great shape. With that thin built and long legs I think he will rock being a tripawd.
All of is will be thinking of Oakley and his family.....
My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019. With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer. I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud! He will live forever in my Heart!

4/27/20 12pm:
Dropped Oakley off at PVSEC and spoke to Dr. Payne. Proceeding with amputation as planned this afternoon and then oncology for chemo within about 2-3wks.
Dr. Payne has some amazing knowledge of the breed and answered all of our questions and concerns. Oakley is one of two surgeries scheduled this afternoon and we will hear how it goes when finished.
If things go well he will spend the night and we will pick him up sometime tomorrow.
I’ll update further as we hear more this afternoon. 🐶❤️
Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Please keep us posted.

Just received a call from PVSEC. Oakley did well under anesthesia and the surgery went as planned. Did not run into any huge issues with bleeding which is one of the concerns with greyhounds, but will monitor this overnight and into the morning.
Samples will be sent for analysis from the mass.
If he looks good and is not presenting much bruising or oozing and is getting around fairly well they will send him home tomorrow. If not, they may keep him an additional day for monitoring.
We have a tripawd now... ❤️🐶
Hello Paul and Oakley,
Just wanted to say hi and I wish your boy a successful and speedy recovery! I'm new here as well, and the wealth of knowledge and supportive community has been so helpful. I'm sure you have already been able to tell.
Good luck to you guys and hopefully you get some good news when the test results come back in!

Hi Paul! You must be so relieved to know your boy made it through with no complications! Make sure to get some rest tonight - you'll probably need it when Oakley comes home tomorrow! Sending Oakley healing vibes from me and Griffin in NYC! ~ Stacy
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
Awwww congratulations! What a relief! We'll keep our paws and fingers crossed that Oakley can come home tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

Yea, so happy surgery went well. It's a good time to get your house prepare and for all of you to get some rest.
Let us know if he comes home tomorrow. Brownie stayed at the vet for two days. One reason was his age, and the other was he is such a light weight when it comes to medication. Hopefully your boy will be home tomorrow.
You said Greyhound are prone to bleeding. Are you speaking of VWD? Just curious because I have that and I know Dobermans can have it.
Keep is posted...
