My dog is 11.5 years old and has been missing her back 2 paws since birth. For the past few years we have been dealing with her back paw pads breaking open and not healing. After 6 months of "bed rest" and every other day trips to her vet for honey wrapped bandages around her paws, they healed. We even then got her prosthetics which she wears happily to help keep the pressure off the bottom of her paw pads. However, after keeping the prosthetics off for a week during a period in which she was not feeling (constant diarrhea) we unfortunately developed another laceration on one of her paw pads. We have not put the prosthetics back on out of fear that they may further aggravate her wound. But now it has been almost 2 months and her pad just does not seem to be healing. We have heard of Scarlet oil for healing wounds, super glue, and honey (which again, worked in the past when our vet did use it) but really would love to hear from any of you if you have found one of these or anything else which worked well for a similar situation? Other than these paw pad issues, she is super healthy! She actually gets around better than most 4 legged 12 year old dogs! Also, she is about 70 lbs.

So when you say she's missing her paws, you mean here entire foot, not just her paw pad correct? If she's walking on her nubs, a cart may be something to consider as she gets older to help take the pressure off? You may want to talk to a rehab vet about this as an option.
It's interesting you posted just now, earlier this week we wrote about the benefits of Makuna Honey. Have you considered trying it again? It sure sounds so beneficial and fast-healing.
And then recently we wrote about Vetricyn (Scroll down for the product info), a wound healing spay that sounds really great, we've heard about it from other Tripawders who had stumps that would get banged around and wouldn't heal. You may want to try this but of course first ask your vet.

We sell Vetericyn at the pet supplies store where I work and my manager always refers to it as "magic water" because it works so well (without antibiotics or steroids). I've used their eye wash and was really quite amazed at how well it worked for Boomer when nothing else really seemed to be working for him. Random side story on Vetericyn, a coworker who has horses knows a horse who was badly bitten on the hip and there was a huge (probably 4x4"), deep wound on her hip. They cleaned it daily with Vetericyn and did not have it sutured or anything like that and it went from looking absolutely terrible to perfectly normal - the hair regrew and you can't really even tell anything ever happened.
