Hello Everyone,

Sweetpea had her amptation almost 3 weeks ago and has been doing great and then my husband shaved her and now we see a lump we hadnt seen/felt before. I am sure it has been there, we just didnt see it and I understand she is has an aggressive cancer, but heck now I am trying to not worry about lumps popping up - taking a deep breath. Will I relax any time soon? she doesnt seem to be bothered by it:)

Oh, it's so scary when we find lumps on our pups after the cancer dx. Lots of folks here have found them, but usually they end up being nothing to worry about.

Best thing to do is get the vet to do the fine needle aspirate routine on it. Then you'll know either there really is nothing to worry about, or you can start making a plan of action. Knowledge is power!

Sending out our best Tripawds Pawsitive Thinking that it's nothing. Beginning the 'fatty lump' chant now...
Jackie

(Fatty lump. Fatty lump. Fatty lump.)

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Oh it is scary!  I hate those lumps and bumps!

Like Jackie said, getting it aspirated will be better on all accounts.  The fear of the unknown is much worse.

Here's hoping for nothing!!!

Chloe has these lumps and bumps:

2 warts, 1 skin tag and 3 lipomas. All benign. Yes I always get a new lipoma aspirated to make sure it really just a fatty deposit and not something more serious. Fingers crossed for you!

-Chloe's mom

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog

Hi Sweetpea, thats a good sign that nothing showed up on the xray but its good that you are getting it looked at anyway, just so you have peace of mind.

I found a lump on Porthos' ribs, I was convinced it was cancer but it turned out to be nothing, I also found a lump on the back of his neck that turned out to be his microchip!!!

Follow her lead: she's not bothered by it, so do your best not to let it affect you either. I know that's practically impawssible but until you know for sure what it is, keep on keepin' on. Most times these funny lumps are nothing. Keep us posted!
