When she was fairly freshly healed, my vet had me massaging the area with a cream to try to accomplish some scar release, but it wasn’t really making any kind of impact, so we discontinued that after a couple months. I am a vet tech, and with 10+ years in the industry, I have never seen/felt an amp scar as ugly as my own dog’s! In the winter, we do have custom coats and onesies for her that have no left leg hole, so she has a bit of fleece padding there. Other than that, it’s not addressed with anything special.

Yeah you've done exactly what I was thinking. I'm wondering if a padded shirt similar to the VetMedWear Recovery Suits might help? They actually have a foam pad sewed into the armhole area. You can see it here:
