Thanks for sharing that Pam. Two years before we got Misty we lost our first lab Tara who was 12 to lymphoma. Misty healed our hearts and we always said she was a little like Tara. When we first learned that Misty had Cancer one of the first emotions my husband and I had was to tell each other we are not going through this again. No more puppies no more dogs ever. We just don't want to open ourselves up to what we know is inevitable. But that just seems like something that will be impossible for me. We also have Millie who just turned 7, her daughter Lola who just turned 4 and our son's dog (yeah right) Toby who is 5. Misty was to be my last "new" dog but maybe that what's she here to tell me!???

I appreciate every story that I am hearing from everyone. It's amazing to realize how many people share the same feelings when you feel you are so alone.

Sister to Millie, 9 yr old choc. lab

Sister to Lola, 6 yr old choc. lab

Sister to Toby, 7 yr old rottie mix (officially my sons dog, but I'm still his mama!)

Sweetness to Fiona and Bill

You know, I think each of these beautiful creatures comes into our life for a reason and also to teach us a *lesson*, if you will.  Perhaps Misty's lesson is to teach that you can open your heart again.  Having lost 14 goldens, labs and kitties in 7 years......well, I can't imagine my life were that not each in it.  And though I know it's inevitable that Iwill need to say *see you on the Other Side* to each one of them both passed and still here, I wouldn't change a thing for the world.  I would do it all over again just to have them in my life.

I'm full of quotes today......my friend quotes from Garth Brooke's song The Dance:

"I could have missed the pain, but I would have missed the dance"

And that says it all for me....hey, my email address is BHS74FlyGirl@aol.com  Since it's a well known fact I am not 'puter savvy, if you'll send me an email and just put Misty's name in the subject line, I'll send you some photos of my Kona (a/k/a my Dirty White Girl)
