Good luck, Spot! Good luck, Cari!
The people on this forum are amazing. You and Spot will have ups and downs over the next few weeks. We have. Today was an up for us. Two days ago was a down. The people here will help you with perspective.
I'm still early in this process, and just found out today that Milo has a super rare form, very aggressive form of osteosarcoma (Giant Cell Osteosarcoma.) I can honestly say that no matter how this ends, I'm at peace with the path we've taken. Bone cancer hurts like heck. Even when just lying there. Even when this spreads to his lungs (most likely scenario), it is far less painful than the bone exploding. As you bump into some lows over the next few weeks, keep in mind that the majority of these guys are doing better by 2-3 weeks post-amputation than they were going in, and that while this path may be a challenge, it's a less painful challenge.
Peace,
-Jenifer & Milo
