And once again, thank you both/all so much for your words of encouragement and cheers for Louie. This community has meant a lot to me.
Now THAT is a way to welcome spring! He looks like a natural swimmer, what a hoppy boy! Hard to believe he's his biological age. He's got the energy of a much younger doggie.
Thanks for sharing, this made my day 🙂

Folks!! Louie just came home from his two month check up and EVERYTHING IS STILL STABLE!!!!
He celebrated his 9-month ampuversary last week, and has been busy swimming and over-doing it a little at the reservoir, and sunbathing. Lots of sunbathing. Plus, sssshhhh, don't tell him, but he has a front wheel Eddie's wheels coming in the next two weeks. He's not gonna LOVE it, at first, but I think it'll extend his reach, because the Arthritis is still a big problem.
But little old man is kicking cancer's butt!
Pics forthcoming.
YAY FOR KING LOUIE!! Thrilled to hear how well things are going for this "seasoned"" puppy!!! And a belated HAPOY NINE MONTH AMPUVERSARY!!!
Louie is proff yet again that age is jist a number and, even with arthritis, dogs can still thrive on three jist fine! Of course, your exquisite care helps too!!
And no worries, not a peep out of is about "the wheels".
Tha ks for sharing all the good news..... ade my day1

Best news all day! Thank you so much for letting us know, every victory of Louie's is a victory for the Tripawds Nation!
Is this what his celebration looked like at the reservoir? Oh my gosh cannot WAIT to see the pics.
And yeah, hope the wheels are a hit. You never know, he just might adapt faster than you think. Treats are your furiend! LOTS of treats! Low cal of course. Let us know what your experience is. I really enjoyed how a set of wheels gave our Wyatt Ray more mobility for a while, he had a blast and it really opened his world. Louie will hopefully enjoy them too. Keep us posted!

"Gosh, Michael posts WAY too many pictures of his cat" I think as I post my third video in a row of Louie fetching at the Reservoir. So many poochies come through our "campsite" to say hi. Louie loves it. And I kinda dig the "need" to just sit outside for a bit and chill. Thanks little man.

The new doggie torture device, I mean, Eddie's Wheels, set to arrive next Wednesday! So Louie should be fully strapped in and frozen in that position at least by the end of the month.
Bummer...said the poctures were "private". I'm not a member of instagram wo maybe that's why I can't see them

Thank you for sharing your story on Louie... My angel is a 13 year old pit terrier and had his same leg amputated last Thursday. He is just getting over fevers and an infection and now seems to have developed an ulcer, is anemic and it's labs are showing liver issues. It's been very stressful and I'm so worried that he may not come out of this. Along with the guilt of whether I made the right decision or not. I thank you for your story as I am starting to see that I did the best decision as my angel fractured is leg and was in extreme pain. He was a very strong active dog before so I anticipated a better recovery. There's still hope and I will continue to pray but he gets better. But I thank you so much for sharing because your story supports me so much . May you be blessed with many more years with your Louie.
Wow Louie looks fantastic! It's a joy to see him having fun on the water, thank you for sharing his water plunge. There's a fantastic summer ahead for your boy, can't wait to follow along!

It's wonderful that Louie made you feel more hopeful! I'm sorry things have been ruff but as you can see YES things DO get better! Sometimes recoveries don't go as hoped for but most times dogs do bounce back and do very well on three. It can be a long road though so please start a new topic in Size and Age Matters if you'd like (the Forum about senior pets), and we can help you better OK? See you there and lots of love coming to you and your dog for a speedy recovery!

"Overdugo".... just want to send you some pawsitive energy for upir sweet pupper.
As Jerry suggested, I do hope you hop over to the forums and ppst about your sweet boy so we can help you further. Let is know if you have trouble figuring out how to start a post for him, okay?
You were faced with a "forced choice" to let go or to give him a chance. You made a decision all pf is would who love our dogs and cats so deeply...you gave him a chance out of love...and that is always the "rigjtt" decision💖
Yes, it is MAJOR surgery and "mature" dogs often take a longer to recover. And your pup os still very early in recovery, plus he has all those other "issues". Jist keep things chunked down and take one hurdle at a time.
