Our girl is only 2 days post op and she insists on sitting on the couch, which has always been her happy place. She won't use the stairs we bought her to get up there more easily. Should we be trying to prevent her from jumping up on the couch?

It's not too much of a jump since she is a 85 lb dog. Is it ok as long as we assist her when she gets down?

Thanks!

Oh some dogs are super stubborn about pet stairs. Have you tried bribing her with treats placed on each step and at the top of the couch so that she associates good things with the stairs?

As a big dog it's not too much of a stretch for her so if she continues to insist, it's probably OK if you help her. Just keep checking the incision to make sure she's not doing any damage.

Dogs NOT like being separated  from THEIR couch!  One of my favorite stories was when o e of our members cut off the legs to their loveseat so their newly tripawd could still get up on kt safely😎

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh my gosh thanks for bringing up that story about the couch! I love that you remembered it, what a true tale of love!
