So we are going to start Palladia treatment on Jester.  I am looking for either a direct source for the medicine or a way to get it at a significant discount.  The lowest price I have seen is over $470 for 30 pills (50mg).  I'm not yet sure what dosage Jester will need.

If you have ideas please let me know.  Jester has not yet lost a limb but his tumors have recurred in his upper right front leg.

Hi Jester and family, welcome. You have such a sweet ol' face Jester 🙂

As far as I am aware Palladia is a prescription that can only be ordered by a veterinarian. Your oncologist should be able to research and find the lowest price for you. That is a hefty price tag but I do know that it's not an inexpensive drug. I'm sorry, I wish that wasn't the case.

What kind of cancer does Jester have?

My baby Eurydice tried Palladia for 1 1/2 months and it was a prescription drug in the UK.

But it would have been possible to buy it on the net with a vet's prescription for a much reduced price.

Did Jester try other chemo treatments before?

We use a site, goodrx.com, to check for the best costs on prescription drugs.  I did a search but the site could not locate that drug.  Maybe a different name, Sometimes drugs have a different name if used for both humans and animals.

Best of luck.

We have two dogs having health issues, and Costco pharmacy has been wonderful.  I haven't priced Palladia, but our savings on Rimadyl are great, and on tramadol, amazing.  Our Costco considers pets to be uninsured "members" and they offer discounted prices.

Just a head's up: please review this article so you're aware of the differences between human and veterinary pharmacies.

We also purchase from places like Costco, but after reading this we are more cautious before we open up the bottle and give the Rx to our Wyatt Ray :

Why Human and Veterinary Pharmacies Are NOT Created Equal
