Jersey Girl is really improving, yay! She's now getting up several times a day to check out interesting stuff, she's walking up and down our stairs by herself (only 2), and in this picture below she came all the way outside to the sidewalk to greet me when I returned from errands. We're getting our baby back. So happy!!
Snoozing under the dining room table during minor home renovations. Bad timing, I know. She seems content though.
Trying on her new life jacket. This girl LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOVES to swim so we didn't want her to have any bad experiences with her new situation.
Trying on her new Ruff Wear Webmaster Harness. We're heading out in the RV tomorrow for a 5 days (Papa Bear's Denver Broncos are in the playoffs, of course he "has to" go. Now she's ready to tailgate safely.
Her first chewy treat with one paw. We're so proud because she quickly figured out how to hold it! (Can you believe her dastardly brother, Hitch, actually stole it from her while she was trying to figure out how to eat it?! Bad Hitch, bad boy!!!)
Here's Jersey Girl doing a roach. This one's for Sally. Thus far I only have a pre-amputation photo. I'll post a post-surgery roach as soon as she does one again.

CLAUDIA and PAPA BEAR, This post jas me cryig tears of joy for you! I'm sooooooo happy you are seeing Jersey Girl's sparkle come back. I think what touched my heart the most was her coming out to greet you! I know your heart was racing with joy!
And then figuring out how to chew her bone with just one front leg.....yeah, that's another one bringing tears to my eyes.
She looks so comfy sleeping under the table while she's stylin' all her "gear". I love that you have her wear her swim vest so it won't scare her. She's gonna still love swimming and she'll figure out her stroke in o time..
O,ay, I'm not much on football...except I liked Brett Favre when he payed and I would watch him.....but just because The Bear family li,es the Broncos, Happy Hannah and I shall root for the Broncos!!
Oh...I almost forgot! Hapy Hannah was reading your post and clapping her paws for you! She saw where Hitch got Jersey's bone so she went out and got one big enough for BOTH of them! Here's the picture of what she picked out for Hitch and Jersey Girl.......be right back...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Sorry for a couple days of quiet, I was getting the bear family packed in the RV and on the road to Denver for the Broncos game this Sunday. Thank you, as always, for your support everyone. I love sharing this journey with my new tripawrent friends!!!

Miss Sally, we all liked Brett Favre! He was a legendary player and an all around good guy too. Since you're otherwise not too into football, we really appreciate that you and Hannah will root for the Broncos this Sunday! Don't forget to watch, the game starts at 1pm Mountain time. Pay attention to Payton Manning, the Broncos' quarterback. He may seriously go down in history as the greatest quarterback of all time. People will be talking about him for generations. Great, great guy too. And so humble! His brother Eli is the quarterback for my team, the NY Giants. Too bad (for me) he's not nearly as good. Hahahaha.

I can't wait until Jersey Girl does another 3 legged roach, we want to make our UK friends proud! So far it's only happened once. Here's hoping I've got a camera nearby when she decides to perform again.

Where are you in the SoCal desert?! Death Valley? Palm Springs? Joshua Tree? Love them all. I think you've been there a few weeks, no? What are you doing with your time there?
Right this second we're at a rest stop in Utah somewhere. We're on our way to Denver for the Broncos / New England Patriots AFC Championship game on Sunday. The winner goes to the Superbowl. Gregg's been a HUGE Broncos fan since he was 10 YEARS OLD!! Me? Not so much. Hahaha. I'm just trying to be a supportive wife, plus I love a good tailgate party. Of course, we'll be hitting every pet store from the Colorado border all the way to Denver until both Jersey Girl and Hitch are covered from head to tail in Broncos paraphernalia. Should be funny. I'll send y'all a picture.
Back to the RV trip. This one will be short, just a week. After the game in Denver we're heading to Reno, Nevada and then Lake Tahoe, California because Gregg needs to do some business in both cities. Then back to Los Angeles so we can get Jersey Girl started on her next course of treatment, whatever that is.
Post pictures of your visit to the CA Desert! I'd love to see and I'm sure others would too!!!!

I've been away from much computer time due to my own health things, but I couldn't help bur wonder out loud about just when you will be in Tahoe. We will be through there at the end of the month and will be in Auburn CA the first couple of weeks of February. Any chance we might be around at the same time? JG sounds like she's doing great! Would love to meet her.
We will root for the Broncos, too. At least this week. Being Forty Niner Faithfuls for more years than I care to remember might get in the way of rooting for the Broncos in the Super Bowl. Guess we will both have to get past this week before we can be rivals.
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
JG looks GREAT!!!! There's nothing like seeing that spark come back; just kind of makes it all ok. And I'll bet she's loving every minute of your trip...even if she has to share the RV with that sneaky boy.
Enjoy the game; I'm on your side, too...never did like a cheating coach...and I can hold a grudge!! Although when the Colts lost to the Pats last week, we did send my brother-in-law in Indianapolis some flowers with sympathy on his loss.

I hope you're feeling better soon!
I know for sure that we won't be in NoCal in February, however we should be in Tahoe roughly Wednesday thru Friday of next week, January 22-23. We're rookie RVers and not great at staying on schedule but I think this is a reasonable assessment. I'm hoping we'll be home in LA by the end of next weekend, Sunday, Jan 26th. Give me a shout when you narrow down your schedule. Your Murphy is so stinkin' cute I'd love to meet you two as well.
Ok, I'll make you a deal on the football. If you root for the Broncos this weekend then I'll root for the 49ers. That will be fun for me because Gregg is rooting for the Seahawks. I don't know why. As you said, we'll have to see what happens after that. As a Giants fan I'll be happy as long as the Patriots DO NOT make it to the Superbowl. I CAN'T BEAR THAT, NO NO NO NO. NOOOOOOO,!!!! Lol.
