Hello all,

We just wanted to shout out, on this Sunday morning, to all of you fellow tripawds and their people. We're new to the site and both of our tripawds being trauma, i.e. injury, caused (we adopted both of them post amputation from rescues, they were both abuse cases) find your stories so inspiring in battling, living with, and trying to overcome cancer.

Kudos to all of you from  us!

Hugs, the Tripawd Coons: Cooper (Redbone Coonhound) and Cinta (Maine Coon Cat) and the Quadripawd Colby (Golden Retriever).

Welcome!! I'm fairly new here to and quickly learned how amazing this site is. I would truly be a wreck if I didn't have all this support and information. BLESS YOU for taking in these rescue dogs and giving them a chance to live a normal life

Awww well thank YOU for taking time to blog and come to the forums! It's the people and Tripawds here who make it so helpful and special and supportive. When you take time to share your story you are helping others in so many ways. And although Tripawds was founded because Jerry had been diagnosed with bone cancer, we welcome all tripawds regardless of how they lost a leg. Our own Wyatt Ray lost his leg to abuse as well which has taught us so much.

Thanks again. A big shout out to your pack in the great white north!!

Hi and welcome to Tripawds! I saw and read your blog posts about your wonderful fur-crew, and truly enjoyed learning about your furry loves......yes, the cancer journey here is definitely a very difficult one to get through, but being part of this fantastic community, with so many amazing friends, eases the emotional burden for all of us. There is NO other support anywhere as great as this one in Tripawds.
I do want to say though, your absolute commitment and huge heart for adopting abused and "physically imperfect" pups and kitties is the ultimate joy, and in return, giving yourself to your own journey of love and happiness for you and your adopted, beloved pets. I am always in awe of selfless, generous, truly loving people that are so willing to take on the uncertain responsibility of pets that have not had a good life, and foster and adopt these beautiful fur babies. It truly takes special, and amazing humans to do this, and I thank you, and so many others here in this community, and everywhere, for opening your hearts and lives to these pets, and turning their lives into a very happy, joyful existence.

Please post more pics and stories on your pack, we would all love to learn so much more about them, and read about their fun-filled lives with you!

Welcome to this awesome community.  As you're finding out there are a lot of wonderful people here willing to lend support and advice to others.

And I think it's great that you opened your heart and home to your Tripawd furbabies.  A lot of times I think these guys are passed over because people think they are too much work or can't do the things their 4 legged counterparts can.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  For me and my husband our journey with our boy Leland (108 lb Dobie) created an even more stronger and special bond.  We both wish that our Leland was still with us (he passed 6/30/14) but we've been able to open our hearts and home to another Dobie baby (7 month old Lucian).

Thank you and again welcome!

Thanks Sahana for your kind words!

I hope that by seeing Cooper and how happy and well adapted he is that others will see how perfect what may be seen as 'imperfect' animals are! We had a woman come running up to us durin a walk a few weeks ago and ask all about amputation, rehabilitation, etc. Her daugher's dog has cancer and they were debating euthansia or amputation as they feared the dog would not be happy/as mobile after. She asked if she could call us to talk through some questions and she decided on amputatio after :)!

I was so happy that Cooper and his experience demystified it for them :)!

Hugs,

A.

Thank yo so much for your kind words Jerry, Bubbalove and Bonnie! We feel so welcome here and it is great to be part of this community!

In terms of having rescued our amazing fur-bunch... They give us so much more than we will ever be able to give back to them that it almost feels selfish, they honestly make us better people each day - the lessons they teach us aout living in the present, unconditional love and gentleness, sheer joy and awe at little things, the power of naps, non-judgement... They are truly inspiring and I hope that others seeing Cooper will consider adopting an amazing and unique pup :)!

Many thank for your warmth and words!

A.
