Hi everybody,
I'm glad to inform you that Jenny is doing good to great. We cut down pain pedics to half yesterday and she started to react as pre-amputation. Small saroma is formed, but our vet is draining it every day. We are waiting biopsy res, so we could proceed to chemotherapy. If res show osteosarcoma as expected we will do CARBO4 or CARBO6 depending on reaction.
I'm worried about Jenny's pre-amp ALP blood results. Result was arround 220. I found few articals explaining that incrested ALP indicates worse perdiction.
Does anybody have more info regarding incresed ALP?

My oncologist told me that refers to the dogs in a population for rather than any single dog. Still not sure what he meant, but I'll take it!
Hmmm not sure what ALP refers to but maybe someone else can help. Try not to obsess on lab results too much, these numbers can bounce around a bit especially during chemo, and as long as your vet is aware of them and knows how to react (or not) to changes, you're good. Of course ask as many questions of your vet as you need to feel comfortable, that's why you pay them.

So glad ro hear Jenny is doing well! And it only gets better and better!
As far as "indicators" or "predictors" of whether a dog does well statistically speaking, all I can say is, I've been around here long enough to know statistics don't mean whole lot!!! So try and let go of those kinds of worrisome things because every dog is different and "predictions" don't .mean a thing! I think that's what your vet was trying to say...each dog is an individual and reacts differently based on their own unique make-up.
You can just start enjoying life to the fullest now and love and spoil like crazy! My Happy Hannah had four Carboplatin treatments and did great! Jenny isntw worried about a thing! She's just living in the moment and having a great time!

I think ALP is the Alkaline Phosphatase Level? If so, I've read the same sort of thing about elevated ALP. In any case, I would agree that what is important is enjoying each day as it comes. Statistics don't mean a thing if Milos is happy, pain-free and loved.

Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise
