Our girl is on day 3 post op on her front left leg. We just removed her bandage and I'm concerned about the wound getting wet due to the snow. We have 8-10 inches of snow in the backyard and she loves trudging through it.
Should we try to dry the wound if it gets wet from the snow?
Great question. I would do whatever you can to keep the wound dry once she comes in (gently dabbing around it (not directly on the incision) with a clean soft cloth is fine). You also want to minimize her activity outside right now, she should only be going out for potty and that's it until stitches are out.
Good luck during recovery! Keep us posted OK?
