She has actually been standing up since day 1 - the vet said she had hopped out for a pee the morning after her op, and she's always been up and about in the house since we brought her home - but I realised I had only posted one picture of either of our dogs in a standing position, so I thought I'd better do something to counter the impression people might be getting of greyhounds - that they never stand up!
She wanted to go down the road instead of up it on this afternoon's hop, so she got to sniff somewhere different. She's never been a huge fan of walks, but I think she is getting bored of only going up the road. She had to hop down a hill and then back up it, and managed really well. Here she is on her (three) feet!

And back to doing what she does best - getting a treat without even having to get out of bed!
Well it's a ZIPPITY DOO DAH DAY over here in tripawd land!!
Greyhounds CAN stand after doing oaches all day!!
Oh, this is a great update!! Tha ks fr the smiles!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Love it. She looks like she is doing great 🙂 Thanks for posting the pictures of Eva.

Lily (my greyhound) wants to send your beauiful Eva a huge greyhound hello! Lily gets the "bed treats" also Love the coat! Lily has actually gotten two bunny rabbits (she dropped them when I yelled) and she is 25 months post amp.
Lots of love to Eva,
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
Yes, I was starting to wonder if the pull of gravity was stronger over there
Actually as a pug provider I find many of my pics involve their beds and their eyes closed! How old is Eva? I love her face.

Eva seemed to be getting a bit bored with hopping up and down our road, so my boyfriend popped her in the car today and drove round the corner to where a nice grassy bridleway meets the road, and I walked Fanta, our other greyhound, round and met them there.
Eva seemed seemed really happy to be out, and wanted to go on past the end of the grassy section, but we told her she'd be better off having a little rest. She hopped back to the car quite happily, and Fanta was very upset to find he didn't get a ride home in the car too!

And not to leave out Fanta! And as well as her walk, Eva has returned to one of her other 'jobs' today - carrying shoes around. She normally picks up a shoe from the hallway and takes it and drops it in the lounge whenever anything exciting happens, like somebody coming to do the door. She's only done it a couple of times since her op, but today she did it twice! Here's the evidence. And of course, if she's blocked up one bed with a shoe then she has to go sit in another one (sorry it's blurry).
Yay! Is that the best medicine or what? A visit with a pal, putting things in order...life doesn't get any better! Pawesome Eva!

LOVING THIS UPDATE AND LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE PHOTOS!!! They really are two magnificent dogs! Just precious!
And, tell your boyfriend as hard as a tried NOT to be in the picture.....we saw him! And he's "precious" too
I know it has you grinning ear to ear seeingher carry that shoe around. YAY for getting her sparkle back!
Happy Hannah has to ALWAYS carry soemthign round too! And er "favorite" things change daily...or hourly. But a shoe, or her food bowl? Yeah' nothing tops that!
Soooooo glad you're seeing her joy coming back! Best feeling in the world! And she clearly picked a running show...guess that's a hint to you!
Lots of hugs to you!

Eva went to the vet to have her stitches out today. Apparently she hopped down the corridor towards him, and the vet asked how long ago the amputation was (even though he was the one who did it), as he couldn't believe how well she was doing! They went for a hop on the grass outside the surgery, and the vet was very pleased.
The wound has healed well with one area which has a bit of pus, so she's got some antibiotics. Apparently she screamed the place down when the vet took the stitches out - she has always been a drama queen. Fortunately there wasn't anybody else in the waiting room at the time!
She's now started to try to lick her wound (vet wasn't surprised, as he said it would be a bit itchy) so she has got a muzzle on. Here she is sitting in the bedroom with her woe-is-me face!
